This is such a direct, effective plan. I can see how you are setting a good foundation in each discipline sp gently. I think this is the best K curriculum video I've ever seen! So many nuggests! Thanks for sharing.

We started using the CL Nature Readers this year and loved it so much! I will definitely be picking up the younger ones once my little guy gets to Kindergarten. 😊

UFLI is free, on line and is Science of Reading-my district is going to use it site wide now and it's awesome!

We used CLE K2, Mathematical Reasoning and MP Kindergarten Enrichment last year! We absolutely loved MP’s book choices and are now using their 1st grade enrichment curriculum.

ABC SEE HEAR DO Book Series would be great for him because it is kinesthetic movement along with optional art to teach phonics and phonics blends.

Oh also, for CLE, do you use/need the teacher manual? I was actually already considering using their kindergarten curriculum before I saw your video so this pushed me toward it even more 🎉 I just wasn’t sure if I’d need/want the teacher manual since the WB pages seemed pretty self explanatory.

🎉sounds awesome. I have a fellow 5 year old who is similar. We are doing 1st grade this year but I love some of your recs. I’ll definitely have to check out the Christian Liberty nature reader as I’m a former science teacher ❤

What history does your family use? We are currently using story of the world but not sure if I want to keep it. I’ve only used it with my oldest who’s 8 and am open to something different!

I seriously would like your help. You seem to be so put together and everything and my husband just surprised me and told me that I am homeschooling my 5, 3, and 1 year old boy's that can't sit still. I wrote down the curriculum you use but I'm not understanding how to use it once I get it. My son will be five in January and he still doesn't know how to read. He knows the alphabet and can identify letters I'm trying to work on his handwriting with him. And I'm working on flash cards with my 2-year-old. I'm just really overwhelmed and I'm really struggling with discipline while trying to juggle this new idea of homeschooling too. Cuz I'm drowning and trying to be a good mom and do all the cooking in the cleaning on top of all the teaching. Please help me if you can.

My advice: don’t overwhelm yourself! Look up Charlotte Mason and read some of her methods and theories. Even if you don’t use it, it should give you some peace of mind. She focuses on habits, time in nature, and learning through play and life skills until around age 6 or 7 and delaying formal learning until then. It’s very research based. I have a 5, 3, and 1.5 yr old. I have started doing a phonics and math program with my 5 yr old, but we don’t do it every day. I play a game with flash cards with my 3 yr old- he jumps like a lion when he gets a letter and sound correct. We do the same with numbers, but again, it’s not every day. Learning happens as we talk throughout the day. I’m not as experienced as the author of the video but hope this helps until she replies.

Can you compare your catechism book to the “Big truths for little kids” book? I already have that one but it’s definitely more reading than yours. It has stories as well. My kids enjoy it but often I find myself skipping it bc of the extra story. We already do Bible and read alouds in addition to 2nd grade, kinder, preschool (3yo) and a 1yr old tag along. I think I’d like to try that one you recommend to simplify our morning time. We try to do Bible reading at breakfast bc we’re all at the table. Pending the babies mood 😅

I’d recommend new city catechisms, the kid ones. They make a small booklet with just one catechism on each page. Or you can get their free app that has them written as well as the song to go with it! Super helpful for memorizing!
