I can honestly say product placement dosen't bother me, i like it...when you go to a real sporting event it's there..why not in a game to add realism..besides the ign website has advertising....

I Think its ridiculous calling the product placement distracting and having it affect the overall review. Although sometimes i do get a little annoyed when games obviously put too much product placement in, i hardly noticed or thought about it in this game. Otherwise i pretty much agree with this review. I would probably give it a 9.0 and recommend it to anyone who owns a kinect. It is lots of fun!

I have the Kinect Sports and it is pretty fun! It keeps you going for awhile but he is right, there are a few hiccups. But thats with every game

@chocoletFIRE You can play in your avatar's normal clothes/costume if you go to the Options, and change the clothing setting, so then you can play in whatever clothes you've downloaded.

I agree, well said! They even gave the tag 'impressive' with 8.0 ratings. If anything their honesty in criticising cons in games as a whole will help push game developers to develop better quality in game production.

@poplol123123 yea, there is kinda a problemo. you wont be able to move around in the ring. you can hit rapidly in kinect sports. at least i can. anyways, it will take alot of work to make a boxing game with all the physics since the kinect isnt that responsive

For now it is true that kinect sports, the gunstringer, and forza motorsports 4 are the funnest games to play right now. Hate to say it but it's the truth but kinect is amazing and the things they can do with kinect are sky high and the games that are coming up, might make kinect the funnest game console like thing to play with

@redwingfan41 it captured motion like kinect but it was more limited just because kinect is more updated doesn't mean its not a rip off of the eye toy it would be the first time microsoft ripped off someone they pretty much took the sega dreamcast button layout for there controllers

@sethmjH No, not a better version of the eyetoy. The same thing as the eyetoy, it doesn't matter if it has 25 cameras, its not going to help it. And you don't understand the science behind Playstation Move. It is nothing like Wii. The only resemblence is the controller. The wii uses infra-red light to track the controller. Whille playstation move uses the known size of the ball on the end (to track your position in space), accelerometers, gyrometers, etc. so it knows the rotation and momentum

it surprised me that on that aussie version of this game it's actually called football on the game's main menu when aussies refer to it as "soccer" & football as AFL

@Cynice49 the eye toy works nothing like kinect. It is very crude. the eye toy uses a low quality vga camera that can barely do 2d. Kinect is a whole different machine which uses 2 3d depth cameras that are much more accurate.

@buugleboy17 totally agree. i didn't notice it at all and honestly it's not like ads popped up each time i wanted to play. as long as they don't affect the gameplay then who cares? sports games always have ads in the background (madden, fifa, nhl) i mean who cares?!?!

@acebunny17 no because all my friends had different systems and we went to each others houses to play instead of intimidating the other person to get the same system. Oh and the 360 started this war. Nobody picked sides when there was an Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube, no one ever said that I wish i had system my friend had but then the 360 came along and then it happened. Everybody has different likes and we should just respect them for them.

fairly close aproximations of actual physical activities? the guy acts as if he's boxing, not playing ping pong. you have to exagerate the moves, otherwise it won't get your moves right.

@CallMEGal I'm not trying to spark a holy war or anything but it is new technology. It is not a new concept (ie. eye toy, wii) Its also not the top in its genre of technology. Its the highest possible in order to retain a reasonable price.

There is actually a score once in a while in REAL football. Soccer is a sport where you run around and kick a ball into a goal. The average score is 2-3. Soccer is a sport for 6 year old children. football is for men.

People are conditioned to transfer loyalties to abstract entities, be it kings or popes or consumer products. Ideally, yeah, we'd all get along and be cool. Don't take me wrong, Ocarina is the best game ever made, but you can't call Microsoft "Shitty" when they have given me Halo, Mass Effect, Gears of War, Left 4 Dead, and now Kinect which is incredibly fun to play with.

Damn, The 2 positives this had was Motion Controls and Very Accessible. Let's look at Sports Champions. Solid Controls and Fun Games. IGN, you are sad. Any average soccer mom would look at this and say "Wow, Even I can play Kinect? OK!" They look at the ps3 review "Hm. Controls are good, Well I mean thats a plus right?" Are you guys paid off by Microsoft? This is just sad. It just shows how Microsoft dominates the advertisement industry.

@sethmjH Yes I have. It is not better, just better coding. Seriously, everything you can do with kinect, you could do with the EyeToy. The only thing special is that the Xbox has a User Interface which you control with Kinect, But if the PS2 had one, you could use it also.

I wonder if i'm the only person who actually finds the commentator's voice, the product placement & licensed music a positive influence on the game because i think it does & believe that it adds more "life" to the game & makes it feel more engaging & fun unlike Sports Champions which is just generic & lifeless with no character customisation & dull presentation.

This is what u call motion control. The playstation move is just a wii rip off. Wii got it right with the remote but kinect does a complete overhaul and i actually am hopful for the kinects future.

It looks really interesting but I wouldn´t buy it if I had a Xbox360. When I think of games I think of controllers and sitting on a couch and play. If I want to move, I´ll just go out and do some basketball. That´s my opinion.
