DUDE! I had the same idea! Except I would also had little touchsensitive buttons you can rearrange around your gloves and make them into certain commands that you wish for them to do. Like if you wanted to draw your sword instead of just doing the motion you would do the certain action response that tells the controller that your drawing your sword instead of dodging or whatever you happen to be doing. You could also put the buttons on a controller and have the controller have movable handholds so that you can make it the same as a pistol and even add attachments to make it into more of a sniper or machine gun-type weapon. You could also put on ankle wraps for the kinect to sync with as well. No buttons on that though, well...nah too complicated.

The only game I played that was enhanced by the Kinect was Skyrim. The kinect has a built in mic, and if you have "Kinect Commands" on in Skyrim yelling a dragon shout in real life made so the Kinect triggered it in game. But after about an hour the novalty wore off and I just used the button press, that way my neighbours wouldn't have to come over and see what I was yelling about.

Answer: Select grenades, sonic screamers, cluster rockets, and plasma charges. Mines are also effective, since many Jedi will run to meet you in hand to hand combat. Silly Jedi.
@T13HS9 жыл бұрын
Addendum: Gas attacks are effective if you can take the Jedi by surprise - inhalation is less effective than ones that work on skin contact, as some Jedi seem able to hold their breath for long periods of time.

The answer to motion controls is not cameras with crude motion recognition capability end of story. Just mount sensors on the user or better yet develop a device that translates nerve signals into input signals, preferably without requiring implantation like devices currently being developed to give motor control to quadriplegics.

Kinect sucks, because like you say, it lacks the physical feedback of the Wii. But I disagree the Wii doesn't have physical feedback. Rumble pretty much takes care of the "hit a wall with your sword" issue. But even if that doesn't do it for you, it's not how you are supposed to use "waggle" motion controls anyway. Just like Rumble brings you into a game by moving the controller in sync with an output, waggle brings you into the game by having you move the controller in sync with an input. The pairing of motion is key, not necessarily you doing exactly what the in-game character is doing.
@highestsettings11 жыл бұрын
Rumble does not emulate physical feedback very well. It's impossible to emulate physical feedback unless you can invent a controller that can propel itself in different directions. Like he said, your sword hits a wall and bounces, your hand continues. Not only does that disconnect you from the game, it also hurts.
@mjc09619 жыл бұрын
+iKhanKing Rumble takes me out of the game because it's completely stupid when there is a huge explosion or something and my hands are being vibrated while the rest of my body doesn't feel anything. I always disable rumble at the system level because it's stupid bullshit.

I always had this idea for how you could use the kinect to play fps games or games like mirrors edge.I thought that you could map the position of where you stood relative to the kinect to movement.Lean forward,back,left or right as though you were pushing against a l-stick on the floor.By facing off screen,you could move the camera.Tilt your head up or down to look up or down and turn your head left or right to look left or right.
@theultimatehangover757610 жыл бұрын
The whole idea he came up with at the end, where you could play using a controller but every now and then use the motion controls to perform a gesture that effects your environment... that's genius! Skyrim does exactly what he described at the end, Kinetic picks up voice, so instead of useing the shout button, you can literally shout the spell and it'll work. I want more games to do stuff like that. CoD for example. What if, you could swing your arm, and it would knife? How awesome would that be?
@computerboy5611 жыл бұрын
Only when you start watching but it gets really easy to understand
@squallsrapture6 жыл бұрын
Mass Effect 3 was nice with the kinect because you basically only used ti to shout which ammo or techyspellsling whatever you wanted to load to make everything more fluid and face paced. And if I recall Steel Battalion 2 did exactly what he described. You mostly used your controller but you could stand up to get out of the ̶M̶e̶t̶a̶l̶ ̶G̶e̶a̶r Vertical Tank and make binoculars by your eyes to use said binoculars in the game. It was pretty neat. I wish they had done more shit like that.
@izeberamia5 жыл бұрын
I never saw the kinect as a great gaming advancement, but a great sign of technological advancement in general. But also, Dance Central on Kinect is 100x better than Just Dance for the simple fact that with the Wii you can totally get away with just swinging your arm, while on the kinect you get more points based on how accurate your body movements are.

I thought it already had multiple cameras, but actually, I guess I can see what you're suggesting. Having multiple Kinect cameras oriented at different locations, like one facing forward, one to your left and another to your right, that'd probably give a better impression of the player's body, as well as maybe more responsive and precise controls.

Actually I saw a guy combining the Kinect with the Wii remote to play Dead Space 2, aiming was done by the wii remote as for weapon switching, but actions like stomping/melee attacks was left to the Kinect creating a true immersive experience without feeling awry (a problem with loads of Kinect controls in games). Extra Credit made a great example of why the Kinect feels to strange to play, it is worth looking up.

i personally really like the motion controls in Zelda: Twilight princess. the important stuff like movement, switching items, etc were all done with traditional controls, but the sword swinging and more importantly aiming items like the bow were done with motion. I feel like this struck a really nice balance between the two and i think it's one of the best examples of well-done motion control in games

IDEA: The free building/combat aspect from minecraft and garys mod ( as well as MC randomly generated worlds) The game plays with controller or keyboard, but if you want to do something more creative like tune up your gun, or wipe you ass on a window. You would do this separately by using a motion sensor or camera. It might not be a 10/10 idea, but it would be interesting to actually tear down/fix a gun or create a home, using make believe tools rather than just, POINT SHOOT WINNING
