Nice grading and mood, I like how you got creative with the camera movement, my regret on my animation is that I didn't add that too! Good to see you also used 3ds max and V-Ray, I thought I was alone! well done!

So cool to see your breakdown! Any chance you would do a more indepth guide for a scene like this? Maybe a lighting or rain overview for beginners, but I would also love a premium course that has even more details! EDIT- your channel has some great videos already! I'll check them out :)

“Nice breakdown, and I hope you all have the chance to win! Do you happen to have a link to a tutorial on how to retarget animation in 3ds Max, similar to what was used in this video?”
@JonasNoell4 ай бұрын
Unfortunately for 3ds Max in this area there is almost no content. And if you find something its probably from 10 years ago. At least I didn't really find anything useful :-(

Great work.. Nice to see we use the same software: 3dsmax, vray, fusion, resolve...
@JonasNoell4 ай бұрын
Yeah though 3dsmax and vray is not commonly used in this area unfortunately. Normally mostly in ArchViz

Can't believe that your work didn't reach top-100. Very strange.

It’s alright, so many insane submissions, it was jaw dropping. Makes me even more motivated to reach the Top100 next time 😀

Nico knows Jonas uses 3ds max now, and he's racist against 3ds max.

Phenomenal work, Jonas! I love the mood you've established. I wish you all the best in the competition, truly professional work. How about a Fusion tutorial series and transfering some most commonly used workflows from Nuke?
@JonasNoell4 ай бұрын
Yeah was thinking about the Fusion tutorial for MultiChannel EXR + ACES but I still have to wrap my head fully around everything. It's still feels a bit clunky and want to first develop the most efficient workflow. This was basically my first attempt in Fusion and there are still a few issues here and there that I need to figure out first 🙂

Really cool work, I didn't fully get what is that you rendered in two diff passes? everything + tyflow rain?
@JonasNoell4 ай бұрын
One pass for the rain and one for the splashes on the ground. Tried to show that with the 2 different colors but maybe it wasn't clear enough.

how did you "connect" the body to the provided fbx? Did you remove the bones from you character's skin modifier and replaced them with the provided fbx bones?
@iamski4 ай бұрын
Hey Jonas awesome job. I got a quick question, in your rain tyflow setup what was the workflow like in that setup because I did something similar with a snow anmation with individual planes that I put an opacity map on to create the snowflakes, but I had a bitch of a time trying to convert the animation to a static geometry because it would take up tons of GB of to generate. So what did you do?
@JonasNoell4 ай бұрын
Hi, I just used the standard LowRes Sphere Shape and rendered as Render Instanes. That worked fairly ok. But still took quite a while simulate all the particles.
@digitalesthetics4 ай бұрын
I would love to know how you rendered out the different passes.
@JonasNoell4 ай бұрын
There is not much too it, just add the render elements required and save it into a multichannel EXR
