Kinetica (PS2 Gameplay)

Kinetica (PS2) - Character: Cera Esper - Season: 1
Kinetica is set in the future versions of Earth's major cities, outer-space, and some fictional locations in the Earth's distant future. Nine racers compete while wearing "Kinetic Suits", which have wheels on the hands and feet, giving racers the appearance of motorcycles. Kinetic Suits have the ability to scale walls and ceilings, the vehicles are capable of reaching terminal velocity and beyond, reaching speeds of over 350 miles per hour (560 km/h).
The goal is the same as any racing game; be the first to cross the finish line. There are fifteen tracks and three seasons in the game. In order to progress through the game the player must achieve first, second, or third place in the first season races. In the second season the player must place first or second place and in the third season the player must win the race to advance.
The game's soundtrack is mostly house, breakbeat, and trance, featuring tracks by Amoebaassassin, Skope, Hybrid, Way Out West, and Meeker.

I used to have a demo pack called Playstation Underground Jampack. While it contained many great games like Jak & Daxter and Final Fantasy, Kinetica was always my favourite. Back then I was horrible at the game, but it was my first racing game and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I never got to play the full game on account of the fact that my PS2 stopped playing games for some reason. It's great to see that I wasn't the only person who enjoyed it, although you all probably enjoyed it more.

I used to be obsessed with this and I never even owned it!!! Anyone remember those demo discs? I had one called jampack and it had so many great, really playable demos, including three of these tracks and multiplayer available. This was my absolute favorite. Now I want to play it..

Same exact thing for me. I only played the demo when I was a child. Like almost 20 years later, this randomly pops in my head again, weird how the brain works. I didn't think I'd be able to find it cuz I can't even remember the title. I wasn't even sure the game exist, cuz might be something I just imagined in my head. But I just typed in on Google "Futuristic PS2 racing game." And I new I found it when I saw the motorcycle things.

@@A-Dubs398 Same here. I also just randomly remembered this game and the demo disc mentioned so I Googled "PS2 futuristic motorcycle game!" I think it was one of the first demo discs for the system. I didn't bother buying it but I enjoyed the demo and played it several times for the cool music, unique art-style, and somewhat fun gameplay. Looking at it now, it reminds me of F-Zero GX for GameCube which came out a couple years later. Pretty impressive!

Jesus, take a look at the wiki. Socom, Jak & Daxter, Sly Cooper, Ratchet & Clank, all made on the Kinetica engine, yet SCE Santa Montica Studios decided to concentrate on God of War completely, also made on the engine, and let Kinetica, their first game, fade into obscurity. Jesus, this is shameful.

You can get an emulator for ps2 on pc and put your old ps2 discs in the cdrom..works great..need good hardware to run it though
