Thanks for confirming my intuition. I realized about 8 months ago that I was looking for a bs program that I could blindly follow. But now know it is far more independent and rtakes a lot more thought amd effort to come up with my own plan. At the same time, you give out great tips to use as the foundation and guardrails for a good program.

This was such an interesting explanation to guide one (me) through developing and testing Zone 2. I had to watch the "core" of the video twice but I think I have grasped what you were explaining. Your channel is much appreciated.Entertaining an informative.....it doesn't get any better than that. Thank you!

Appreciate the Z2! Absolutely with you on this! After a certain GCN + Zwift 6 week training block I am absolutely here now. I'm a Z2 zealot normally but for motivation I took up this mini training plan, and I'm very happy to move back to my more normal polarised training now. I got a good FTP bump, but every session I could feel my mitochondria asking for love 😂

Excellent content as always coach! It would be great if you could do a deep dive into zones in the future. Myself and I'm sure many others are confused between the different zone models on Strava vs Trainingpeaks etc(as they vary wildly) as well as the confusion between Max HR and FTHR and which is more accurate for setting of zones. Happy Holidays!

Hello coach, I have a question, what do I do if my heart rate is drifting out of zone 2 during ride? Do I slow cadence? Drop power? Or just continue? I do hour and a half on indoor trainer, I live on the gold coast Australia, since the temperature has hit 28- 34 degrees I'm finding my heart rate drifting 30mins in
@BulletproofCycling
@BulletproofCycling 11 ай бұрын
Aim for middle of power zone and ventilate well but if your breathing and RPE feel good then don’t panic about small heat related drift 👍👍

What I’m finding difficult is that I’ve signed up to a Strava climbing challenge for January and I’m trying to keep to a zone 2 pace while climbing up and 12% incline. Any suggestions?

seems like 142 is a high zone 2 HR for your max HR of 182?
@joerenner8334
@joerenner8334 11 ай бұрын
I have the same max hr. I can sing bars of ACDC tunes at 142bpm. And coach is levels fitter than I am. So his numbers look bang on to me.

My ftp is 175,then my threshold is 161. My zone 2 on training peaks it shows 130-142. And my max heart rate is 191. Is my zone 2 accurate?
@BulletproofCycling
@BulletproofCycling 11 ай бұрын
Looks too high but it might just be your heart rate data is wrong rather than power.
