I think that perhaps Merlin, due to his heritage, has two extremes to his personality. His nature as an incubus may manifest itself in the form of him becoming easily angered by perceived offences to his character, and may also play a role in his mischievous, prankster side. Whereas his nature as a human may manifest itself in the form of him always being merciful and perhaps remorseful in the end.

That does sound valid and highly likely. Sounds similar to dhampirs in modern fiction, as in their humanity makes them objective and analytical while their vampire side makes them slobber at human necks.

on the matter of knights grand theft autoing each other's horses, a proper well armored knight of the 15th century (Malory's period) is quite hard to kill with medieval weapons, and most knights preferred to capture and ransom their fellow knights and their horses rather than kill each other outright. Filthy, lightly armored peasants were ok though, I mean, _common people_ they are everywhere!

Seems to me that the whole jousting tournament held by Arthur with Kings Bors and Ban was probably a demonstration of their military might, since I guess, any new alliance should asses their allies power, sort of sayin': "Hey there, buddy, you sure yer up for the challenge?" and the other was all like: "Wanna arm wrestle to prove it?" Lots of machismo flying around in this story while Merlin is learning not to let the kings act as sullen teenagers with idiotic man tests. "Merlin, mythologies best chaperone!"

I only ever knew about Guinevere. And that Arthur had a child with his half sister, Morgan. But no other heirs. Just Mordrid. I've read a lot about Arthurian Legends and have never seen anything to the contrary. Though I thought it was odd that Arthur would go so long without taking a wife and having heirs.... Anyway, I am finding this interesting.

Originally, mordred was supposed to be his nephew. Technically, he still is and it depends on the story you’re reading. Like a lot of king arthurs legend, the incest angle was added in later by an unrelated person.

This sounds like the story anng made up about the 2 men who had a saccred tradition of running an orb that represents the sun between 2 gates, and 1 of the men either steals or finish carrying it depending on which you believe, then ang said it was 2 brothers playing what was like a game of soccor where one was still pissed off in their older age and start a 100 year blood fued between 2 clans
