King Edmund I - The English King Who Finally Ruled A Unified England
Edmund I or Eadmund I[a] (920/921 - 26 May 946) was King of the English from 27 October 939 until his death. He was the elder son of King Edward the Elder and his third wife, Queen Eadgifu, and a grandson of King Alfred the Great. When Edward died in 924 he was succeeded by his eldest son, Edmund's half-brother Æthelstan, who died childless in 939. Edmund then became king. He had two sons, Eadwig and Edgar, by his first wife Ælfgifu, and none by his second wife Æthelflæd. His sons were young children when he was killed in a brawl with an outlaw at Pucklechurch in Gloucestershire, and he was succeeded by his younger brother Eadred, who died in 955 and was followed by Edmund's sons in succession.
This video is my fourth in my Kings of England Series. A Historical Documentary video series where i plan to go through every sole ruler of England, starting with King Alfred the Great, and Ending With Queen Anne. This series will focus on the person in question, but will also summarize the most important historical events associated with the topic person during their life span. This will include battles, wars, cultural issues, religious changes, political documents, reforms, and lasting effects.

He's my 32nd grandfather. My 1st cousin 9x removed was Daniel Boone. My 7th great grandfather was one of the first settlers in America. Ludwig Christophel Franciscus, came to America in 1710 on the ship Mary Hope (Maria Hope). He was one of the settlers in Pennsylvania. It's so cool to follow my family's history.
