My man Steve has entered another FINE rabbithole, just as interesting as Genesis! This has been my favourite band of all time since I've heard them in 2017. They released FIVE studio albums that year (and did the same in 2023!!), totalling 26-ish albums as of now. They're batshit crazy, wizards in all of their crafts, intelligent as f..k and some of the nicest people in the music biz, period. I would've personally showed you to the "I'm in Your Mind Fuzz" medley, but this is a fine intro to them as well, more recent. Suggestions from here are "Planet B" or "Gila Monster" for some thrash, "The River" or "Magma" for some jazzy action, "Robot Stop" or "Gamma Knife" for relentless psych rock or "Crumbling Castle" and "Han-Tyumi and the Murder of the Universe" for crazy storytelling and progginess. They've dabbed in countless other genres, including psychedelic pop, hip-hop, folk pop and garage - they originated as a garage surf band. Sorry for the infodump, but they're brilliant! Not all songs are for everyone, but they sure have something for everyone, you'll find yourself becoming a fan even if you dislike a track or album. Hope you get better soon, my mate! Brazilian Roadie here, wishing you well 🫱🏾🫲🏻

Don't apologise, Brazilian Roadie, I loved the info dump, very informative. Also glad to know I've stumbled upon another hidden gem. I did have a genesis vibe with their multiple switchups! I appreciate all the recommendations, I needed a jumping off point from here 👍. Thanks for the well wishes. Take care

Best band going right now. I’m 57 and I’ve never been as into a band as I have been these guys the last few years. They’re fucking INCREDIBLE! Check out ‘Magma’ live at Red Rocks 6/8/23! Face melting beautiful tune!

Pro user tip: Bootleg Gizzard on Spotify is all of the live stuff and the live stuff is where it is freaking at when it comes to King Gizz. 26 studio albums so it is a lot to digest.

There's so much to choose from with King Gizz. You liked the beginning and end of Iron Lung - maybe try Astroturf for one of your next ones.

Great band, got into them during lockdown, they're prolific at putting out albums!, 5 or 6 a year!! 'Robot Stop', 'Mr Beat', 'Road Train' from 'Nonagon Infinity'....'Crumbling Castle' from 'Polygonwannaland'.....'Gondii' and ''No Body' from 'Changes'. Many more they cross all Genres.

Someone commented about KEXP, it's always a high quality production of indie band live recordings. As for this band, I've heard a lot about them but haven't listened to them. So, this is a first for me. I need to here more before I'm sold. I know they drop an album (or whatever they call it now) every other month, so they may need to watch the quality of their output. It just struck me as kinda forgetful noodling in the middle, but overall, it was good. Now, if you want a tasteful tune with an unforgetable jam, I would recommend "Impossible Germany" live by the band Wilco. It doesn't matter which version or show, they tear it up every time. US Roadie 1 signing off...

Yeah that's a good description, noodling in the middle! I agree, need more to get a feel for them, then again, i need that with most bands etc. Thanks for the extra suggestion too, love the idea of someone tearing it up as you put it 😎

HA! Subdued?! I love it. Maybe we should suggest the Dripping Tap and let his entire face melt off.

Hey, welcome to the channel. More subdued is welcome for sure! 🤣...although this other commenter has me doubting it somehow 🤔🤣. Face melting songs sound fun too!!
