King is the only character I care about in Tekkem and it's purely because he's a giant wrestling dude with a cat head. I was a big fan of WWE growing up and King grappled my attention immediately.

One thing about Tekken in general: just because you’re plus doesn’t automatically mean you can combo from it. King’s DB,3 is plus, but only for like 6 frames (don’t quote me on that). Meaning you might be able to get a jab out before your opponent, but they can still block/duck. What the Law did at 5:57 was he just ducked after getting hit, which allowed him to get the launcher. Hope this helps! Keep grinding! The King is looking pretty clean.

5:20 you ask if the law is smurfing, and if you check a players tekken prowess you can usually tell how high their main is. At 120k his main is probably around red ranks, so maybe like 15 dan. They also recently changed ranked to make it pay more attention to your prowess when matchmaking, and prowess can be inflated if you play a lot of characters so be careful.

My brother in Christ, you finish too many fights with heat unused. King's heat smash is insanely fast and really good. If you aren't aware, you can reset some combos by activating heat while juggling people.

Yesterday I got demolished by a Garyu King easily climbing the ranks just by defending and spamming different grab strings. He had 56 wins in a row at that point. King really is broken... Can be played in many different ways and identifying his grabs and being able to consistently counterplay them is way too much hard work.

Playing against higher rank players is better than playing against ppl ur own rank. I was stuck in vanquisher with Bryan for a while until I started matching against more shinryu and tenryu. But uh with king I think u have more of a fundamental problem rather than character cuz he’s pretty easy especially at low ranks, try to mix mids and grabs and learn ur plus frames and use king’s super strong power crush

I try not to rely on one jab string or throw and have been decent with mixups. Just haven’t found the missing piece for me to further the growth I’ve had until now 🤔
