Dude, 2 to 1 advantage on good defensive ground. And Montfort charged right up the middle without unit cohesion. It took one simple flanking move and a blocking force to win. Mortimer charging from behind with a force equal to Montfort's was his own initiative.

Awesome vid congrats. I would love to see my favorite period of warfare that is "The French and Indian War" that has a lot of sieges, skirmishes and battles and great commanders like the British Major General James Wolfe and the French Louis-Joseph de Montcalm and so much more!??

It'd a waste if Mortimer didn't shout "To the King!" whilst riding down the rear of De Montfort's rear division.

It is Simon de MontFORT, Old French did not drop the final consonant/they were not silent like modern French. Likewise it is AgincourT not core. Henry III had to reissue Magna Carta but like his father John he was not a strong king.

Last video: Baron's forces - "let's not attack the other side while they are sleeping...as that is not honorable." this video: king's forces - "They're sleeping...ATTACK!" To bad Edward survived captivity

The great legacy of Simon de Montfort is The Provisions of Oxford . Where he tells Henry III no more wasting money , you are going to have representatives to Parle - as in Parliament . Its French because the Norman and Plantegent nobility who ruled England for 300 years spoke a dialect of Norman and then Aquitaine French .

These days, normal tra -sh loves to wage war, but they love playing the victim even more. Back in the day, normal people simply fought to dispatch as many of each other as they could and didn't care if they didn't make it themselves. I support this channel.

Well done lad! Demontfor lost his genitals that day along with his head! Edward l didn't make the same mistakes his father did by ignoring his nobles pleas for more control over the treasury & who the King indulged at court. The Scots were a good target for Edward to place his aggression. That and a crusade.
