We flew from Moorabbin airport, in Melbourne's south across Bass Strait to the tiny King Island for a short visit. King Island is well known for its beef cattle, fishing and cheese. It's also known for its rugged coastline and shipwrecks. The main township Is Currie, in the west, where all services are found. Other townships include Grassy in the south and Naracoopa on the east coast.
The lighthouse at Cape Wickham is one of the tallest in Australia and the golf course at its feet attracts golfers from all over the world. For a short visit there is plenty to see and do.
