Don made some excellent points there. I come from those days when you had to save up your pocket money, go to the record store and buy the album. When you came home, put it on and it turned out to be not what you expected, that was enough to ruin your day, I tell ya. It was either trying to sell it on to the next guy, or listen to it til you liked it, hehehe. And at the risk of sounding like this boring old metal dude, the kids do have it easier. Hear about something cool, they just type it in, and BAM, there it is! I remember buying heaps of vinyl metal records in the early 90's (which cost next to nothing, because nobody wanted that stuff anymore) as I did not own a cd player. If I liked it, I read the thankslist to find out who their friends were and tried to find their output. Something I also did, was check out the pics on the sleeve, see what band shirts they were wearing, and also tried to hunt those bands down. It was more work than it is now with the internet, but dammit, it was fun and rewarding to put in the effort!
@KaaiHawaiianDeathMetal Жыл бұрын
I got a cd player in the early 90’s. I was buying everything on cassette or cd. It truly sucked going to the store. Dropping all my earnings from wood chopping or lawn mowing. Throw on my new tape. Then it sucked. I remember that happening a few times. Normally the tanks list or band pics with them wearing band shirts normally lead to something awesome
@profile1674 Жыл бұрын
@@KaaiHawaiianDeathMetal I loved going to the used vinyl store. Always a surprise to see what they got in, and I loved leafing through the bins and discovering all kinds of aggressive delights to annoy the neighbors with! The duds were indeed annoying, yeah.
