Eric Pederson they were sold as a Christian metal band when they're neither metal nor entirely christian. Hard to grow with that marketing strategy.

Kings X is one of the greatest bands ever to play!!!! Period. If you say different you have never really heard them. Great music, great musicianship, and great message. If only the music industry had embraced them back in the day, then more people would know this.
@gornhorror13 жыл бұрын
I think I know one of the reasons why Kings X music is so special. In addition to just rocking the house down, their songs speak of God, love, acceptance, respect, good will, faith, etc. They are a very, very, very, very, very special band. Their music just raises you to higher level of being. One that I hope we could all achieve. "He remembers how well nobody cared, he was alone, with everybody there, he took a chance and got out of there, BUT ALL HE WANTED WAS LOVE." ......Priceless.

If you know music in any real way you can’t help but have your jaw drop at this random and rare band : technical brilliance, deeply unique creativity, and soul like a gospel effing choir. If you know anything about rock and metal you’re probably like me and just worship theses guys and everything they do and have done

One of the sickest grooves from one of the world's greatest bands. I saw them last night in St. Pete in a club that held 150 people and stood right in front of Dug all night. Like having them play in your freakin living room. Badass band and great guys!

They’re the tightest band I’ve ever seen live. The instrumental part at the end of this song, I saw them play it and they weren’t even looking at each other!!!!! They all were right in the pocket. Most impressive thing I’ve seen a live band do.

Words fail. These guys are a level above the rest. I started listening to them when I was 5 yrs old and their sound will never get old. I've met all 3 of them several times. Just the greatest guys and band of all time.
@ricadrew13 жыл бұрын
Long after these guys are gone, somebody will take this sound and spread it and all the heavy bands will be playing off this vibe and they'll give it a name and call Kings X the fathers of this sound. Kind of how some people may say that Muddy Waters is the father of the Blues. This is how far ahead of the times I think these guys are, people just can't deal with it yet.

This was the type of band that when people were throwing around bands from that era, they'd drop Kings X into the mix and everyone who knew, knew. A good friend of mine saw them in Montreal and told me it was the best show he had ever gone to. Absolutely nothing fancy, no big lights or pyro, just spending the night with one of the tightest , road hard bands that existed. Evidence? Check out the last portion of this clip. They never look at each other for cues. the false ending is classic. Fade to black , and one more hit. Check out the looks on their faces...yeah, they know they're that good. These guys should have been household names, period.
@glennnizich14 жыл бұрын
Helmet wasn't even a thought when these guys came out, so respected by a lot of musicians all over, and one of the best shows of all time, I've seen them about 6 times, its a religious experience.And hey they did a hendrix sond remember the last woodstock, look it up.

You're right... I'd like to sing like Doug. I'd like to play like Ty too! There was a time when i practiced a lot, to play the guitar as Petrucci, Lifeson, Blackmore, Hammet... but now i think Ty's style is kinda unique, and really atractive. Great guitar skill, great composing, great voice. Ty Tabor rocks!! Doug rocks!! Jerry rules!!! King's X rocks!!..."The greatest band you've never heard of"... one guy commented that somewhere, about King's X. It says it all!

King's X is for sure the best band around. They just never had any luck with their record companies promoting them. They should of hit it big back in the early 90's.
@ideazinc14 жыл бұрын
In a time when most guitar settings were either squealy or flat, Ty brought a sound that re-inspired many guitar players to get technical and tweek their effects. Myself included. I think they are an excellent band and I was truly inspired by them musically. Although I do not much care for their beatles-sounding harmonics, they are indeed astounding musicians. Lost in Germany is my favorite song.

Get off your ass and look.

Breathtaking timing, lyric, power, tone and song. Sadly, in all these years nothing came close to KX. I was really hoping something came along to topple them from the greatest podium of rock. Just from a selfish perspective. Nah. It never happened. I'm beginning to feel it's my fault now. If only I'd tried harder. George Harrison. Prince. John Lennon. EVH, J Brown. Dayum. All would have been blown away by Jerry Ty and Dug. I'm old, and seen them all. But nothing compares to this. Once in a lifetime offering to all life, missed by everyone. So sad.
