"I.....got the blues this morning...oh...trying to make it through" Great vocal. Amazing guitar riff. And I HAVE to say...few drummers could pull a song like this together. Jerry Gaskill is awesome (Bonham-esque or better). "criminally underrated"? King's X fans know this. SO...If you like what you hear..."Go tell somebody".

King's X FUK"N RULZ!!! very overlooked and underrated. one of the most ripped off bands of all time, but ya know what??? I dont mind because when I go see their shows Im in the front row damn near everytime which means more KX for me. One of the best kept secrets in music are KING'S X!!! ...and that's ok with me!!!

Great version, from the 1st album of theirs I ever heard/bought. Bought the album for "It's Love" but when I heard this, I almost couldn't believe it was the same band... Jerry is ALL OVER THIS!

Ty is just smiling away looking at everyone(me included even though I wasn't there)The time signature in the verses has always done my head in and still does. Ty is loving every second of it and of course Jerry is smashing the skins with so much authority.

The video for this song is from First Ave in Minneapolis... from their 2002 Summer Tour. The sound is from Live All Over The Place

the tuning for dogman is down a half step on every string.. then drop the sixth string a full step from there... so drop D down a half step, open note on the sixth is C#

Yeah Me too! Their mainly the only band that excites me anymore. And most of the newer material since the Dogman album is either in drop c and drop b tuning.
@robram202515 жыл бұрын
you know it! Yeah I was thinking about it from what he's been doing live. I found a bootleg that I downloaded off of ego's old King's X site years ago from a gig they did in San Francisco at the DNA lounge. Also from "Live all over the Place" they are always in drop c....Ty's a pretty exciting/amazing guitar player live...I really dig his new Balance CD as well....How about Come Somewhere by Jerry!!?? What an amazing CD! Terrific vocals? Jelly Jam and Judhead on top of all this!

@jca612515 жыл бұрын
he does that on the new albums for sure and live i think he tunes that way now, but on the recorded version of dogman, it's drop d with the whole guitar tuned down a half step... if you play along with album version in drop C, it's too low, and i don't remember sabbath every playing in Drop D

I don't think so.....Ty generally tunes down a whole step and then drop c tunes....or tunes down 3 1/2 steps and drop b tunes....i think you're referring to Black Sabbath in the 70's! haha

Simply MASSIVE! The verse riff makes me want to punch someone in the face, steal a car, drive it as fast as it will go, until it explodes in a Hollywood-style fireball!! haha!......(joking obviously, Kings X are just ruling my world right now ;)

doesn't that riff have a little bit of Zep's "Immigrant Song" feel to it? especially the phrasing starting around 1:29.
