I’ve had a lot of ups and downs with my brother. When I saw that scene it reminded me of when my disability was taking a real toll and I just refused to let anyone help. I didn’t want to look weak. So he helped me up and said “Prove them wrong. Show them how strong I know you are.” Really broke me watching that and seeing that yeah no matter what he only ever loved his brother and was there when he needed him most!

The beauty of their portrayal is that it gave us an idea of which parent the brothers took after. Viserys is definitely their father Baelon's son: warm, dutiful, and responsible, while Daemon took after their mother Alyssa: wild, willful and passionate. Baelon and Alyssa also did very much love their family and it shows in how they brought up their sons.

I believe daemon actually took after both of his parents daemon got his warrior skills as a knight from his father as baelon was an exceptional warrior especially on vhagar and in battle he got his behaviour and attitude from his mother Alyssa and was most likely Alyssa’s favourite especially since he does take after her. Viserys honestly reminds me of jaehareys more especially since he was more peaceful at ruling he also has a bit of baelon in him but not much. If only baelon and Alyssa survived as well as aemon their brother things could’ve been so much different.

You made me cry 😢 if only Viserys would have understood Daemon. Daemon lost his mother when he was 3 he has no recollection of ever meeting her, Viserys was the only person he had until Rhaenrya came along. This show Daemon shows just how much he loved his brother and all he wanted was to feel loved, appreciated, and present In his brother and niece’s life. He hated when he denied him Rhaenrya. And Viserys saw her, he saw her without Daemon and refused to believe that her sourness, her anger, and loneliness was because she wanted it too. He saw in the dinner how different things would have been if he had married them. Those beautiful babies would have all been birth from Daemon and Rhaenrya’s union, his daughter laughing and feeling protected and love by her husband. His brother never wanted his crown it was his love and acceptance that he wanted. Just be part of his life. Bravo 🙌

This happy/sad music lovey-dovey video almost makes you forget that Daemon ascribes pleasure from torturing, beating and killing peasants. That’s a tough type of psycho to keep around the crown. There’s a reason he was intentionally distanced. The way this video is edited and clipped makes you forget about reality.

@@yoyobros99 I don’t think anyone is forgetting that he’s a sick bastard, but the brotherly love shown throughout the show(not just in this video) is his one redeeming quality. I personally enjoy the fact that Daemon is twisted and cruel except to the people that mean most to him, but you can’t say he was born evil(or even is, he’s morally grey) but life made him a stone cold warrior. And I think part of that is because he actually didn’t have a mother, and Viserys was the only link, the only one who could validate his feeling of loneliness and desperation for love. But that’s just my take

Daemon never wanted the throne for himself. Only thing he wanted was protecting his brother from Otto and the vipers of the realm and keep the power in pure Targaryen's hands. That's why he wanted to marry Rhaenyra back then and he was right about everything. Viserys made 3 big mistakes that leaded to the Dance. He choose to trust Otto rather than his brother. He choose to marry Alicent over Laena. He choose to wed Nyra to Laenor over Daemon. If Viserys would have trusted Daemon, the Dance would have never happened. It breaks my heart he never did, but i think Viserys regretted of misdjudjing him. Defenitely too late, but better late than never XD

You are right... Daemon knows about himself that he is an impulsive person...if Viserys made Daemon his right hand then they could've rule all the kingdom without any chaos... He did. He just loved his brother too. Daemon had no intention of taking the throne away from Viserys he just wanted to position himself better to take it on the event of his demise. Which Daemon still hoped was far off into the future. Luckily for him, his brother's favorite child is a girl and the niece who adores him like a conquering hero.

Both of them had faults and both negatively contributed to their rollercoaster relationship, but they did what they did in anger at the flaws they saw in their brother but couldn't see in themselves. Then there was the parasite Otto Hightower exploiting the situation for his own gain. Top tier writing and acting.

Their relationship seemed complicated but it was really simple when you think about it. Viserys always wanted Daemon at his court because he truly loved him but knows as the king that he cannot be put in a position of power due top his recklessness like being Hand of the King. Meanwhile, Daemon never really wanted to be king but just be by his brother's side and Viserys rejected him of that opportunity. "10 years you've been king and not once you've asked me to be your Hand" This line was really heartbreaking when you think about it as Daemon really just wanted his brother's approval and to be by his side and every time Viserys just shunned him away because of he had to put "duty" first above all as king.

Viserys is a good person but he really did Daemon dirty and you could always see Daemons ''love/hate'' view of their relationship. Daemon clearly loves his brother but also always ''taunts'' him because he felt his brother disappointed him as Viserys picked ''vultures'' over his own blood, the one that always said the truth to protect his brother. If Viserys had kept his brother by his side and listened to him, the civil war would have never happened. But even if Viserys picked vultures over his brother by his side, Daemon always stood by his brother, even at his weakest as he helped him ascend the throne one last time.

If we compare his character in the novel, in the novel he is just an old man, fat and obnoxious to the point that he never thought that there was a war going on between his family members, while in the series it was clear that he was aware of this dispute and he wished that He reconciles his family before he dies. I think that daemon felt like, his brother was king, he was a prince, he should have some ruling authority too. Like they’re a family, if Viserys’ blood made him a candidate for the throne, well Daemon has the same blood. I think Daemon just wanted to be as “royal” as Viserys. He wanted some authority. He wanted his place in the sun alongside Viserys . He loved Viserys. And I think he wanted Viserys’ attention. I think Otto tried to keep distance between them because Otto had more influence on Viserys that way. And let’s not forget that Viserys wasn’t sick until Daemon was banished from court. Otto could’ve been slowly poisoning him all that time. Not enough to kill him, they needed him alive, but enough to keep him incapacitated so Otto basically had all the power. Viserys made the remark about his father’s sudden death that allowed Otto to become hand.

The House of The Dragon would have endured likely another 500 years if someone had given Daemon some therapy and taught him how to handle his emotions. His violent outbursts are the main reason Viserys couldn't trust him fully and allowed meddling houses to put a wedge between them.

Or he could've just been more wise and kept Daemon as his hand instead of being manipulated by small houses like HighTower and condemning the realm to instability. Maegor was violent and cruel as well, but that didn't ruin the House of the Dragon, it was viserys' stupidity of allowing the House of Dragon to be divided by letting Hightower in that ruined everything.

I dont think i can compare this relationship with the one of Viserys sons, it is totally different, they have different ages, Viserys and Daemon are grown and mature men, paternal figures, and Aemond and Aegon are teenage and not really mature boys, so there is no comparison and no matter what we see in season two, their relationship wont be so emotional and so beautiful i dont think so, because i think these two boys get on well when they bully people like in episode eight , it is about hurting people, the relationship between Viserys and Daemon is about them and Daemon was telling Viserys the truth about Otto to protect him but unfortunately Viserys realised when it was too late
