Many thanks to Jason Harrison and the rest of the Clean Team and the Down Ambassadors of the Downtown Association. This program needs to be replicated throughout the other trashed out areas of the city. This program should be expanded during the summer when youth workers could be employed to do some this work.

gallons is a Measure of Liquids, but I guess if they are using trash bags that measure capacity that is how they came up with 100, 000 gallons of trash picked up. because that just doesn't make any sense really. so they got 100,000 gallons worth of trash bagged filled.? i'm confused.
@DS-ld8ns11 ай бұрын
okay . They are doing great work. just didn't understand the measure and wanted to be sure i understood it correctly.@@nvention20
@DS-ld8ns11 ай бұрын
if those trash bags were filled with 8.34 pounds per gallon that would be 417 US tons of trash that is a lot of trash. I doubt that density was that high but still they likely picked up well over 100 tons of trash.@@nvention20

Gallons are a common way to measure liquids, but it is really just a measure of volume. And of course anything can be measured by volume, or weight, or mass, etc. Fun fact, some liquids are often measured by weight, like jet fuel.
@a86me11 ай бұрын
Gallons are used in the trash industry as a measurement of volume. For comparison your small garbage can is most likely a 32 gallon can, your large recycling container is probably a 90 gallon container. That being said a large route in the residential industry is about 1000 customers a day, so this is about the same amount of volume one recycling truck picks up in a day.

Yet you dont care that the cops let bad landlord investors get away with crimes against paying tenants, making them homeless in the first place?

Gallons or pounds?
@mmdurfee11 ай бұрын
For accuracy purposes; it might be better to use a metric for weight (pounds/kilos) instead of a volume of water (gallons).
@SnoringVids11 ай бұрын
Totally agree but it's probably easier to estimate based on gallons per garbage bag since I assume they don't weigh the garbage.

How about instead of thanking them we pick up after ourselves so they dont have to like our parents did. And before anyone blames the homeless its not just the homeless it’s everyone.
