You should check out the interview Eminem did with Ice T where they were talking about Treach and this song. Em recited the opening lyric, “I can snap, rap, pack, click-clack, patter-pat-pat Take that ass to the point you have to ask for your ass back…”. He said that song blew him away and he didn’t write another rap for an entire summer. It must have made him realize he needed to step up his game for sure. That’s why Treach is in his top 5.

I’d put this song up against any other rap song. This jawn blew my mind. His rhyme schemes have layers. The flow and style stay consistent yet versatile. I always tell heads that Treach is a top five lyricist no question. And yes you can hear Treach’s influence in Em’s rhymes.

8:24 I can answer your question. I am a 1990s kid. I grew up during a time when people could actually sing without autotune, and rap was at its best along with the 1980s rap. I grew up during the legendary days Toonami and anime. Before that garbage Naruto show came along. This was back when anime was coming to the U.S. and booming. The legendary shows such as Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Gundam, Pokemon, Digimon, Yu Yu Hakusho, and many other amazing shows I could name that aired on networks such as Toonami, FOX Kids, Kids WB, Sunrise, ABC Family and Jetix, adultswim, Cartoon Network, etc. This was also during the legendary days of WWF when Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Undertaker, and other top names were going at it. Back when that wrestling show was worth watching. Basically, as the 2000s slowly became to creep in, overall quality of everything in entertainment dropped, whether that is in film or music. Today, I would say the rise of the best films are live action VFX such as Marvel, Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros., etc. And the best music is film, theatrical such as Hans Zimmer and many other artists composers I could name. The 1990s and around 2000 were the best days for cartoons and anime on television. The 1980s and 1990s were the best time for rap. If you did not grow during those eras, you pretty much missed out on some amazing things. I don't even listen to today's mainstream music. I listen to 1980s, 1990s, film theatrical score music, or game music.
