Samuel Temperato, the DQ franchise owner who came up with the idea for Blizzards, was inspired by the frozen treats sold by Ted Drewes, a St. Louis shop owner who termed them “concrete”. In 1959, Steve Gamber, then 14, would stop by Drewes’ Chippewa Street location for a sandwich and chocolate malt, asking Drewes to make it thicker and thicker each time. Drewes had enough and one day flipped the malt upside down to show its thickness, assuring his young customer that if it fell out, it was free. Temperato picked this up for Dairy Queen! And yeah, Cyprus isn't in Egypt, it is its own island nation. It has quite an interesting history as Turkish and Greek Cypriots sharing the island has led to a lot of violence before and after the UK granted them independence. The Greeks supported enosis (or union with Greece) while Turkish Cypriots preferred taksim (or division of the island), and there was a lot of intercommunal violence. Because of violence, a UN buffer zone was created, dividing the island and capital in half. The Turkish military invaded the island in 1974 after Greek nationalist militants backed by the Greek military junta ousted Cyprus President Makarios III and led a coup to support enosis (the junta in Greece collapsed due to the invasion). The Cyprus flag was designed in 1960 by Turkish Cypriot artist İsmet Güney. The design of the flag includes an outline of the whole island and olive branches as a hope for harmony between the Greek and Turkish Cypriots.

Where I live, if the delivery of whatever you are eating(at a specific range of restaurants owned by the same company) takes too long and the food gets to you cold you get whatever you ordered for free. Obviously, this isn't a good move for the company, so its drilled into delivery drivers to get to you quick as fuck. So you can expect within 10 minutes of your order leaving the restaurant, your order will be in your hands, sometimes even less. Its very nice, and sometimes you get a free pizza when they aint quick enough. The chain is rated extremely high just because of the perfect service. I swear to god those drivers have been trained to a professional level.
