the actress who played lisa hadnt worked on a show like this before with its multiple long dinner scenes so on the first few takes ate a decent amount of the food, whilst the others just pushed it around their plates. Then she was then told she had to do the same for aaaall the other takes and angles they did meaning she ate like 5/6 plates worth in a couple of hours!

If you ever go to the UK and ask for "two pints" the barperson will ask which brand of beer/lager/cider you'd like (unlike every time the request is made by an actor when they never ask) .
@Wally-H Жыл бұрын
Yup, funnily enough this came up in one of my social anthropology lectures at uni. In the US, you walk into a bar and just ask for a beer and you get whatever they decide to serve you - here you have to be more specific.

I have a suggestion for a good comedy. Keeping Up Appearances. It's about a higher class woman called Hyancith Bucket (Bouquet as she prefers people to pronounce it) who's a snob and does everything she can to make herself look good. Unfortunately for her, her other family members are lower-class which she feels threatens her reputation. Her sister Daisy is married to a lazy guy called Onslow who mostly watches television, drinks beer and drives a rusty looking car. There's another sister called Rose who lives there who's always flirting with men, being dumped and having tantrums. Hyancith's father also lives there but should really be in a home as he's always wandering off causing trouble, upsetting women and forgetting what year it is. Hyancith is married to a man called Richard who is pretty normal and has pretty much given up trying to talk sense into his wife whenever she comes up with a crazy idea as she often ignores him. They have a son called Sheridan (unseen but often phones Hyancith asking for money, much to Richard's displeasure. Hyancith seems oblivious to the fact that he's seemingly gay). Hyancith does have a wealthy sister who is usually unseen but usually phones her. Whenever she phones, Hyancith will say "It's my sister Violet, the one with the swimming pool and sauna and room for a pony." Hyancith also has two neighbours, Liz and her brother Emmet. Liz often comes round for coffee but is always spilling it as she's quite nervous around her. Emmet can't stand Hyancith and tries his best to avoid her, without much luck. The show gets better as each episode happens. Once Emmet (David Griffin) joins in season 2 and Rose is recast (Mary Millar) it really kicks in. That first episode when Emmet is introduced is hilarious. The whole cast are great, I think once you watch the first few episodes you'll really love it. It was written by Roy Clarke and was released in the 1990s. Patricia Routledge, Geoffrey Hughes, Clive Swift, Mary Millar, Josephine Tewnson, Judy Cromwell and David Griffin each make this show really memorable. You'll either laugh at watching how everyone tries to avoid Hyancith or just the things she does and says. All the characters are really funny. Hope you one day get to watch it.

if you want a margarita you'll definitely be ok in a bar, most city pubs will also likely have someone who can make cocktails. You might struggle in a country pub though as they tend to be family run and not trained bartenders (though it's always worth asking). The pub in this show is an exaggerated version of "the pub to avoid" that every town seems to have. One that somehow stays open despite only having 4 regular customers.

With tea it's all about execution and preferences, if someone makes me a strong tea it will be a 1/10 whereas if someone made me a weak tea where they literally keep the tea bag in and squeeze it in 5 seconds and take it out for me that would be perfect. But many prefer it stronger, its also all about the tea bag Brand. I find the cheaper off brand tea bags taste way better than pg tips and the others
