No whitelist for swatting, police are legally obligated to respond as if it’s a real threat. You can reach out to your local pd and they’ll know that it could be a false threat but it’s still a massive pain in the ass at least in America. With information being so public nowadays they can easily swat your parents house, your workplace if you aren’t a full time streamer or content creator. It’s just not worth putting yourself and family in danger. I’d imagine most ppl aren’t worried about rot showing up to their door cause they’d just get shot if they try shit but that isn’t the issue with address leaks.

I don't know if this got answered at 18:00 but in the states at least most police departments can't or won't do this, as it would be a very convenient excuse for an actual maniac to give the police to avoid possible law enforcement interference with their nefarious activities. As nice as it would be, they just legally can't white list you so getting doxed by these maniacs can actually be very annoying. Apart from swatting they're able to do things such as social engineer utility companies to get your water or electricity shut off. Call landscaping companies and have mulch dropped off on your lawn or in your drive way, have multiple food delivery companies come bring food at all hours of the day. Call escorts or other "on-call" entertainment to your house. All these things are services you pay for with cash at the door or after it's complete so it's very easy to get endlessly harassed by these freaks.

I know an old pk streamer that quit streaming and pretty much disappeared from everything after they joined rot. Which doesnt make sense cause he was pretty cool, talked to him on discord and everything for a good while. When I last talked to him he said he couldnt say much but it has been a couple years. regarding the doxxing, not everyone is a content creator that is comfortable with their real name and info being public. it's uncomfortable having your real info released to people who don't need to know it and it's weird as shit. you have all these reasons why doxxing isn't a big deal FOR YOU, but you're a reasonable enough person to admit that very few people would share most of them. also, there is no "whitelisting" yourself to the police in america. you can go to your local pd and present information (if you're lucky enough to have evidence) that would show there's a real threat of being swatted but these are NOT taken seriously until it's too late most of the time. it's unfortunate, but it's extremely easy to commit cybercrimes and very rarely do people face punishment.

we need the game to be. 100% downloaded and imported into real engine or some newer coding language to create a osrs 2.0 or rs4 whichever you want to call it. this old ass 2001 technology we are operating on is getting fucking old. we pay a lot of money to play this game we deserve modern tech and capabilities. they can give us a modern OSRS with new graphics while keeping it old school. upgrading the game doesnt have to be rs3 all over if they make the graphics look like their videos they make it would look bad ass and be super fast no more tick delay and no more limited mechanics and capabilities due to shit 25 year old tech we run on.

Nobody wants fucking modern graphics in _old school_ runescape. There’s already an HD graphics plugin and not that many people use it cause it looks weird as hell. If you want modern game design play rs3. thats different from upgrading a few behind the scenes things on the networking side to eliminate botting but idek if that can be done. Even if it could be done, the osrs team is still seen as a side project so they have very limited resources. Most of the problems in the game are mainly bc the osrs team is stretched incredibly thin
