Medieval life is fast and short and she isn't coming back from the dead. Not to mention there wasn't any of the two being in a very serious relationship. And before some "expert" writes that there wasn't any casual sex in medieval times, of course it was. It was much more frown upon by the society and sometimes it could have had nasty consequences, but young people did it anyway (especially in the countryside). A look into town/monastery archives can attest to that.
