The freedom with the camera makes fighting multiple people so much less disorienting. Changing targets in Vanilla feels like Henry is having an aneurysm every time you look from 1 opponent to the other 💀

Yeah I really don't understand how people thought some farm/blacksmith young man would somehow be amazingly good at fighting with only a few classes. Lol I've done three playthroughs. The first time I played it it wasn't really that hard or at least to me it wasn't I'm not sure if it's because Henry was bad. The second playthrough was challenging but now the third playthrough it seems like they changed the game or updated it for 2024 and it does feel much harder especially when it comes to blocking but still not impossible. As long as you stay away from fights involving more than three enemies with armor. Then again my character still intermediate and not expert.

​@@yipperdeyip this game is ridiculously simple, spam master strike. and it was dumbed down the moment they added slo mo. most people dont find it hard, they find it boring as shit because its conceptually cool combat system sabotages itself with broken shit like clinches, master strike and tackle. mix that with abyssally retarded cheese AI, incredibly buggy and restrictive animations in combat, and the worst lock on system that can only (barely) be remedied with mods, and youve got the most dumbed down brainrotted melee combat on the market. i like this game a lot, but the combat seems to pretend its deep. the rpg elements carry the combat a bit by adding nuance and variance, but in a vacuum, it's just janky trash. so many of its problems have already been solved by contemporary melee games like chivalry and mordhau, for honor, sekiro, hellish quart. and fuck, even mount and blade had a more solid and consistent melee system like 15 fucking years ago. I'm only ranting about this because this game is sick but holy shit is the community elitist about its horribly outdated and inherently broken combat.

I played just with hammer or maces - it´s somewhat easy(-er) mode. If you manage to destroy shields or enemy armor, then it´s usually over very quickly.

Hi, I installed your mod list and although the combat is much better, I have this problem where enemy just keep running straight to my face. Like they don't even try to engage in combat they're just run straight up like they're trying to hug me. And it's really annoying espcially in group combat. Do you have any idea what caused it?

@@autumn6994 I removed each mod separately and I think I found the problem. You know in the base game when you unlock the camera the enemy will try to run after you and tackle, the no tackle mod cause them to not to the actual tackle, but they still run after your character. And the "more responsive targeting mod" somehow causes them to think that you are unlocking so they just keep running all over the place. Removing the no tackle fix it for me.

i personally don't have any lockpicking mods.. some older mods from 2018 and early 2019 (i think?) don't work, if you install some that don't try looking for the same mods with "PTF edition" in the name, PTF edition means it should work with newest version of the game also follow the install/uninstall instructions ! in worst case scenario you can corrupt your saves which you really don't want, ask me how i know lol

Read the mod description it states it is part of the mod if you download it you will need to edit the file if you wish to keep those things.

@@Aquatexx How to customise the compilation The compilation of mods is, of course, subject to personal taste, and you may want to disable parts of it either because you disagree with the changes or it conflicts with some other mod you're using. The main download includes the full compilation, but within the mod folder you can find each part in a pak file of its own. To disable a part, simply remove the corresponding pak file - or in the case of the mod.cfg, simply remove the line in question. The text changes belonging to any of the parts can also be disabled by removing the relevant rows in the mod's localization xml files, within the language pak files - this is required for restoring the cardinal compass points for example. It's in the description on the Mod I suggest reading it to see what all it changes it's a great mod but there are a few things you should know before just downloading it this will prevent you a lot of issues such as what you are currently experiencing.

the masterstrikes are much harder to pull off so i would say yes, though i never loose 1v1s really but fighting multiple high level enemies is still a challenge and actually fun, the no tackles mod greatly improved the jankyness of group fights i really recommend that also

What am i missing? the only thing that seens different (besides helmet and crosshair for the bow) is that they don't master strike you all the time but they dodge like crazy souls like players, i love the game but the combat is so bad, and it gets so boring when you are high level.

target locking system prevents you from fighting against >=2 opponents because you can't freely move in a fight, and raise shield against blows of other enemies swinging at you. Even leaning against a tree or bushes won't prevent from being backstabbed as all gankers around you are going to make a sieve out of you.
