Manowar will forever be remembered as the forefathers of power metal, right next to Helloween. Every power metal band can be traced back to the speed metal origins and melodic arrangements of Helloween, or the traditional heavy metal inspired aggressive nature of Manowar. They are kings of their genre, gods of their craft, and legends that will live on for many decades of music. Thank you for covering one of my favorite bands of all time!

"The Triumph of Steel" is my favourite Manowar Album by a longshot. "Metal Warriors" is the pure incapsulation of Manowar and their style. "Master of the Wind" is a touching hymn that actually holds the power to ease the pain caused by death - be it the death of loved ones or your own end coming closer. It helped me processing the death of my mother and my grandparents. "Achilles Agony and Ecstasy in eight Parts" might be an ambitious project but that actually works. The epic style of both the music and the lyrics, changing from far and agressive to slow and melancholic truly incapsulate the spirit of Homers writing. Listening to the song as a child really got me more and more into Homers work, giving me the motivation to actually read the Illiad and the Odyssey, not the easiest pieces of Literature for a 12 year old. ;) Now in my late 20ies I i've got my Masters Degree in the Classics (Ancient History, Archeology and classic Philology) and work on my PHD. I f***ing love this Album!

In essence, their rendition of battle hymn(which i hadn’t known was by manowar at the time,) instantly threw me off in terms of just how epic it was compared to their normal music. This was great! Next year will Manowar tour Europe with M. A .Batio on guitar. It will be awesome! Sabaton shows their greatness by this episode about the metal legends in Manowar. Thanks!

Manowar's Battle Hymns was the first metal album I bought. I jumped up and fist pumped harder than any teen had ever before when I heard Orson Welles' narration of Dark Avenger. That song still fuels my spirit and gives me shivers to this day! Truly a magnificent piece. The re-recording was incredible as well and featuring Christopher Lee's narration was a true homage to the original. Hail God's of War and Hail to All You Fellow Immortals! Hail!

Manowar was my first metal band. I was in my early teens watching a music channel when Warriors of the World came on and after that I was hooked on the genre. Two decades later it's probably my least favourite song of theirs when compared to songs like Loki God of Fire or Call to Arms or Blood of the King or Master of the Wind just to mention a few, but it will always hold a special place in my heart as the song that introduced me to heavy metal.

I first came into contact with Manowar and the album "Gods of War" through the Warhammer 40K videos using "Sons of Odin" set to game cutscenes. I would then go on and listen to the album while playing sword & sorcery MMORPG "Age of Conan", which fit each other very nicely.
