Fen, you say the helm can be put on a survivor that already has a shattered jaw and then they can encourage again, but that's not how I interpret that card. It says Shattered Jaw Injury *Result*, which to me means it applies to the result on the injury table when rolling, not to the injury itself when a survivor already has it. (It also makes more thematic sense that the helm protects you from getting a shattered jaw and doesn't magically regenerate your jaw, but hey, this is Kingdom Death and I've seen weirder things. ;))

Zachary Barash, who designed the monster said otherwise when he played with Twist gaming around the second Kickstarter campaign. But maybe that's been clarified differently in the intervening years and I missed it. Edit: I'd also like to highlight just how rubbish the helmet is if it only ignores the severe head injury at the moment it happens. That's just terrible for a Node 3 monster gear piece.

Fen, about the Chakram, you're saying it can't perform at what it was intended to do, i.e. make the monster easier to hit for everyone else, because it has low strength, but the effect triggers on a hit, not on a wound, so that wouldn't matter, would it? Am I missing something?

Yes. Hitting the monster and not also being able to wound it is just making the showdown harder for everyone. It can trigger its own effect, but it also helps the monster get closer to winning.

Ah, so you're effectively saying that likely forfeiting the wounds that one character can inflict is not a good price for a slight increase to the chance to hit of the other 3 characters? Hmm, interesting. I suppose that checks out most of the time. Maybe I'll run the maths on that one day :D

@@n0chabizniz Yes. It would be a different matter if the weapon's strength was higher or Thrown Weapons actually got a mastery. We'll see what happens in Campaigns of Death, I'm hopeful it'll be good based on what we've seen in the GCE.
