I never played the first game until the ps3 version, I played Chain of Memories on GBA and KH2 when they first released, this shows how much the first game means to the whole franchise, not because they callback to it in every game and 2 of them are retreads. Seeing most of these return in the sequel you feel the bond they had from these memories. Especially how much Kairi was a big deal with the many flashing images of her face through the whole thing, until she wasn't when Namine and Xion entered she became kinda there.

He had a choice to get his real memories or keep his fake ones and namine said to get his old ones back she would have to re arrange them and he would lose his fake memories

Sora’s memory was so scrambled in chain of memories that he only had the choice of keeping the memories of the castle or his old ones. He chose his old memories, as such, he lost his memory of what happened to him in castle oblivion. Although... Sora has hinted that he remembered some of it somehow when Namani and Kairi became one again. You’ll have to do some deeper digging to find the full answer!

Nah, it was just shown that way. Xemnas had to fight Sora after, because he says in the fight that Sora is incomplete (Because Roxas had been formed) and also passes through him to copy his memories (which is revealed in 358/2 Days to be used to create Xion)
