Um actually, principal Nezu's quirk is "high spec" which gives him the intelligence that surpasses that of humans. This high level of intellect allows him to predict exactly how multiple series of events will play out, wish is why he was able to be a successful pro hero and the principle of the #1 hero school. His quirk isn't just "being a human".

I love the broader magic cycle that Shadowrun exists within. It is our world, but we're in a magical lull. Trolls, orcs, elves and so forth all exist, but with such low magic their traits are subdued. A dwarf is a stout, short, burly, surly, hairy, industrious, man. Shadowrun is set during the rise of magic in our near future. Those traits resurface, and everything starts to change. Later magic becomes powerful enough to attract the attention of horrors from other realms, and they appear to consume and destroy. It is so far beyond even the greatest powers of earth that there is nothing to do but hole up and wait it out. Another game by the same group, Earthdawn, is set after one such cataclysm, when magic is falling, and survivors begin to resurface to begin reclaiming the wreckage of the world.

@@IceMetalPunk Nope, that's the original masterpiece he's dumping on in that review; the dates on the flashbacks give it away, as the new movies aren't so much a 'reboot' or even 'reimagining' as an 'update' in the form that heavily implies a direct sequel. First scene was the two kids burying a mysterious chest to show it had been around for awhile and establish that whatever is within is hostile and frightening, the second established how it was unearthed and that a kid got trapped within with his game still ongoing, and then 'the present' that it jumped to was 1995 where the game was rediscovered and some kids accidentally joined the ongoing game as new players. The 'like a video game' part of the review was a criticism about how each round of the game resulted in seemingly random dangers that the cast had to overcome to progress rather then the more 'grounded' series of obstacles you'd see in something like a Bond film or even LotR. Ironically, the new movies, or at least the first of them, follow a more traditional structure of dangers BECAUSE they are based on video games where levels are sequential rather then a board game where luck of the dice and draw both dictate your challenges and act as the primary source of suspense; though you need friends to play a board game, so perhaps it's nuances were lost on such a salty dude.
