I don't get why people always crap over the line that Roxas says in Xion's death: Who else will I have ice cream with? When Roxas asked axel what a friend is axel replied that's they laugh and talk and have ice cream together. So basically he's saying who else will be his friend.

I think the general idea is that when something or someone is dying, you wouldn't say something irrelevant like "Susie's dying of cancer, guess she won't eat her leftovers tonight." So in this case, people call him out on that. But considering he's a Nobody, and pretty much the only times they really enjoyed together was eating ice cream, it hits home and it hits home hard.

RPGgrenade Was that really a sad scene? I mean she had tears of relief rather than sadness because the news were so happy to hear. It is indeed a very emotioal scene (and I had watery eyes myself) but this time for a different reason. Which makes it that much stronger. I have had a few games making me cry because they killed characters off but BBS was probably the only one that made me cry because of positive news which in my opinion is very much harder to achieve. But 358/2 Days still takes the crown for me with BBS as a close second.

Okay, why is everyone disagreeing with No. 1.? Xion's death- hell, her entire story- is the saddest moment in the entire series to date! She was created to be a replacement for Roxas that Xehanort could then use as a vessel, then she discovered one of her best friends knew about her past [that she herself couldn't remember] without telling her, then she found out her very existence was a 'mistake' that was bringing harm to her other best friend and someone she didn't even meet [Roxas and Sora respectively], and THEN the only way to make it right was to get one of her best friends to kill her. And worst of all, no one even remembers she existed to begin with! If that's not sad, then I don't no what is.

What's worse about #1 is at that time, Roxas' friendship with Axel is falling apart and later in the future, Axel died searching for Roxas. Axel's death awakens Roxas, and they had their last ice cream together in Twilight Town. That moment was seriously heartbreaking for me. Always brings me to tears because of how emotional and beautiful their friendship was. Nobodies or not, they showed how real friends should be, despite being incomplete.

Seeing ven sacrificing himself and seeing aquas reaction killed my heart. The struggle she went through, all the pain, suffering, to protect. In the end just to fail in anyway destroyed her and in that scene that captured her perfectly.

I've played every game, and thats my favorite scene. Its so feelsy. Happy and sad. i wish square made roxas and sora have more encounters on eachother... they obviously had the idea since the begining or atleast near it, as on final mix of kh1, you can fight xemnas, and he explains how "you remind me of him" you being sora, and him being roxas. sora asks what thats supposed to mean, and xemnas says "it means you're not whole"

Wow. I am actually kind of shocked you don't have the only scene to make me cry in the entire franchise. It is a secret scene only available in KH2 FM+, but it is the scene where after Sora defeats Roxas in the World that Doesn't Exist, when Roxas and Axel meet up on the clocktower for the final time eating ice cream together. After they eat Ice cream, Roxas stands up and tells Axel he has to go, saying goodbye Axel, Axel then turns his head, looks at him as he is disappearing and says "Goodbye, Partner" as a tear rolls down his eye.

Xion's death is by far the most saddest scene ever in kingdom hearts and left a message to every KH fans. This was also that made me cry after playing days. Roxas and Xion didn't just felt friendship, but they also felt love as well. So you could say that they were (in a way) in love with each other. The moments they shared together, the way how they get along so much and how much they care for one another even if they're not suppose to feel anything. If did ran away together they would been a cute couple. I seriously hope she comes back in kingdom hearts 3 to be with Roxas and Axel(Lea) again to go back to the way they were.

If anything, I believe Roxas's story, as of right now, is the saddest. Imagine, your existence, from the beginning moments you can remember, ends to awaken a true hero. Your existence, your appearance, stemmed from individuals who were born. Roxas was never meant to exist, yet he became, he lived, and he died, by waking up the individual who was his true self. Yet, you still see the partition between the two. This is what brings me to tears: the fate of Roxas. Just listen to Roxas's theme, and how sad it is.

I think Roxas' scene when he meets Sora at the beginning of KH2 should have been on here. You find out he was manipulated and treated like an object and no one cares about his feelings because they don't think he has any, then he finds out he has to disappear for Sora's sake. That scene made feel so bad for Roxas (actually the entire KH2 game made me feel bad for him).

When Kairi cries after she sees Sora's drawing in the secret cave. Basically Aqua's entire ending in BBS how she had to lose her two best friends and ends up wandering inside Kingdom Hearts for years, that's depressing as fuck.

number 4 reminds me of a similar situation in KH2. When Sora leaves twilight town for the first time after he woke up. When he says goodbye to Hayner, Pence, and Ollete, he sheds a tear. And I was just thinking, like that tear wasn't from Sora, it was from Roxas. Because their beautiful friendship they shared with Roxas never even existed, but only in the memories of Roxas. I agree with Xion's death being the saddest in all of Kingdom Hearts, but I also think Axel's death was sad. If you really look at it you can see all the events leading up to it. He couldn't feel anything, but right when he was starting to be able to feel he lost the only two people that mattered in his life. After that it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to say he was dealing with some depression or something along the lines of that. In 2 he spends a week trying to get Roxas back, but only to fail. It's obvious toward the end that he was still really hurt and probably still dealing with depression. All the effort only to have his best friend die on his own birthday of all days. Later when he sacrifices himself it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to say that Axel wanted to die, and that was an excuse for him to kill himself

I think another beautiful but sad moment is immediately after Axel's "death"; when the surviving members of the Organization gather to speak upon the event, Saix replies to Luxord (who said maybe Axel finally had won whatever he had been after): "That's absurd. He won nothing, and he IS nothing. He couldn't stand the emptiness of being without a heart, and that lead to his demise. He was FOOLISH, and WEAK." While the words are rude, and seemingly disrespectful, I find myself at staring right into Saix's eyes. I believe I saw an endless pain, within them.

Dream Drop Distance did have something special... It was really good at presenting a fear everyone overlooks until it's actually happening. That moment that you can't control, that moment of your dream turning into a nightmare and you can't do anything about it... They made Sora the one who's in that moment, and like anybody else who is in it, they can't tell it's happening until it's too late and then, the realization process is like swimming through thick molasses, it's slow, thick and feels like you'll be stuck in it forever. But more to the game's strength in that part of the story was the sound of Riku's voice pleading Sora to wake up and not to chase the dreams and just like anybody else trying to stop someone from going down a bad path... it sounds like the most ignore-able of voices. Our hero is falling deeper and deeper into this hole- and all we can do is just watch it, knowing what's going to happen... a helpless spectator.

The whole "who will I have ice cream with" is actually Roxas' way of saying he'll miss Xion pretty much because ice cream was their way of expressing friendship, which makes the scene a whole lot sadder if you think about it.

Birth By Sleep is my saddest moments in KH by far. Aqua story, mostly. It's really bittersweet, she sacrificed herself for her friends. Little did she know, her sacrifice was all to no avail. I remember shedding some tears while playing BBS. Deepest storyline in all KH games

Not exactly a cutscene, but more a moment of Fridge Sadness for me, was when I realized why Xion's hood would sometimes just randomly appear over her face in 358/2 Days. I at first thought it was a glitch, something to laugh about, but after I finished the game for maybe the second or third time, I was thinking about Xion (I mean, who else would you think about?) and I realized why it was that her hood showed up on her face at all. I mean, if she was a puppet, you would think she would have had that face to start with, right, even if she was made? What's the point of the hood, right? Then I remembered her purpose as a puppet, to copy Roxas, to emulate Sora, to pull memories from him and keep them, and it hit me-suddenly the hood popping up on her face sometimes when the camera changed angles, Riku's reaction to seeing her face for the first time, that time when they were sitting up on the clock tower and Xion was just going back and forth between having her hood on and having her hood off like an indecisive Assassin, everything made sense-not everyone saw her face the way Roxas and Axel did. People like Saïx and Xemnas never even saw her face at all, they just saw the hood, the puppet, and Axel, at first, didn't see her as human at first, either, hence why, at first, he didn't see her face when he, Roxas, and Xion first met up together for ice cream at the clock tower. When she became his friend, he saw her face, hence his reaction of surprise when he turned to look at her and poof, she had a face. Riku, when he pulled her hood off, probably didn't even see the face we know as hers at all-I mean, sure, she looks a fair bit like Kairi, but it's not worth that violent a reaction. He might have seen the legitimate Kairi, or maybe even Sora. It's hard to tell for sure, especially given how no one remembers her now, save Roxas in some vague way and Naminé because memories are kind of her thing. I realized that the only people who saw her with a face saw her as human. I also recently began to consider how, if someone played the other games, but not 358/2 Days, they'd probably not know who Xion is, either, and, knowledge-wise, they'd be in about the same boat as Sora. It's a funny thing. Makes me glad that my first game was 358/2 Days.

I will confess, Xion's death was the first and possibly only time a videogame brought me to tears. The series as a whole is pretty tragic though, only one game (KHII) actually has a really happy ending, and even then DDD has basically cancelled it out. The saddest moments are 1. When you realize Axel/Lea says "Got it memorized" because he doesn't want people to forget him and it is the reason he was so hurt that Roxas couldn't remember him 2. When Aqua tried to enter the dark dimension to escape with Terra but had to sacrifice herself so that Terra's body would at least escape however Xehanort was still in control.

My saddest moment is in KH2 when Sora wakes up and is Twilight Town and is about to leave for Yid Sin and he's saying good-bye to Hayner, Olette and Pense and he sheds a tear, that was Roxas crying for him the first time. Another sad moment is in KH3D and Ven, Roxas and Xion is asking Riku the same three question Selphie, Tidus, and Wakka did in KH. Oh! And when Roxas was leaving the organization and Axel was trying to stop him and he said, "No one would miss me..." And Axel said, "That's not true, I would..."

In one of the first scenes when Roxas and Axel become friends- they eat ice cream together and Roxas questions Axel and the idea of it- Axel responds to Roxas basically with something along the lines of " This is what best friends do." Roxas doesn't understand how to control his feelings- he's a nobody, he doesn't even know what feelings are. So he basically has the mind of a child- He has never had experiences like that before- it was all new to him. He believed that eating ice cream together meant you were best friends- hence why Hayner, Pence and Olette ate Ice cream with him everyday in his fake world- if you noticed in the game Roxas says how he is jealous of those 3 but he doesn't understand it or know why. When Roxas asks Xion, " Who else will I have Ice cream with?" he really is torn. He's realizing he will no longer be able to be with Xion- they can never have ice cream again- he can never see his best friend ever again. That's why the scene deserves to be number one :)

It was a touching scene, but I knew they weren't going to kill Goofy off, but I would have to say maybe a little cause I kind of want to travel with Kari, and Riku a bit more. Riku being the defensive type like terra and Kairi being the mage.

For me, my top two scenes are Axel sacrificing himself to see Roxas again, and says "He was the only one I liked. He made me feel like I had a heart", and his farewell to Roxas on the clocktower whilst Roxas has already gone, where he says "So long, partner" and sheds a tear. The strongest bond by far was these two, and it pains me whenever I watch both scenes. Axel cared about Roxas so much and it makes me sad to think that he would even go so far as sacrificing himself on the tiniest chance of seeing Roxas again.

Xion and other nobodies might return because in one of the games ansem the wise explains to riku that sora has the power "to recreate people we thought were lost to us forever (xion, aqua, ventus and terra?)." Ansem predicts this because sora was able to turn back to a human from a heartless without killing roxas. And since he has many connections to people's hearts. There may be a possibility he could bring back people who were gone or lost, including xion, aqua and some others. And to confirm he may be able to turn a nobody to a whole person, ansem says after the first quote I did "our most precious treasures-EVEN AN EMPTY PUPPET (nobody/xion) " its just a theory though A GAME THEORY!

when I saw the video I was like "saddest moments, huh? so birth by sleep and xion moments." On another note, I've loved Xion since I saw her when I was 8 and the game came out, as an eight year old I was just like "she has short black hair and hangs out with boys just like me! she's my favorite!" and having To watch my favorite character die was heartbreaking especially since I was 8. I'm 14 now, still in love with xion, and now I relate to her more than I did before when I was just like "yea, short black hair!", now it's more of "she's a puppet controlled by vexen, I'm a puppet controlled by society, she's a nobody, I'm a nobody, blahblahblah, I'm just like you, xion!" plus I still have short black hair and hang out with boys and have been planning to cosplay as her. Another reason I've always loved her was that she was the only GOOD female organization member. I mean, before xion it was just larxene, and she's a prick.

Honestly I think Xion's death is possibly the saddest thing in the entire Disney history. I mean I'm an expert in getting information in entertainment media. I think I've seen pretty much everything from 192x-2014. Nothing made me feel as much as Xion's death. Especially since the concept of a Nobody is not only real... but I was one at the time. I was childish and unable to understand one's own heart. I didn't even believe I had one. So that moment ...it really hit me.

While I can understand with #1, the last scene with Ventus (after the credits) would of been perfect somewhere on this list, possibly even #2 (yes, surpassing Sora's Sacrifice). The music and the atmosphere really does a good job of making it so sad. All of three of them had it bad in Birth By Sleep, but Ventus's last part was the one that got to me the most.

If you played the other games you would see how the sea salt icecream is important. And you know what not even that, it was sad and it didn't kill the mood for my because id you payed attention you see that Roxas sitting and eating icecream was his way of becoming friends. Since he "didn't have a heart" and had no experience with what making friends was, hanging out with them and eating icecream was what connected them.

Yessh and noo, I feel like Axel and Roxas have a deeper friendship, you know, more then friends. But Xion goal was to realize who she was and her best friends. While Roxas focus the same thing as her, but he then slowly was becoming aware of his own heart. There were quotes from Axel that he told Sora, he made him feel like he had a heart. Roxas bond was so strong, enough to give some reaction to Axel's empty heart. But then again, the game doesn't focus on romances, which is alright because this game doesn't seem to have the time to have any? You know, just spending the most time with your best friends and keeping they close forever . I have ships in the KH fandom, but I rather see what happens for everyone in the future (:

The whole story of Birth by Sleep is one big sad moment! I mean, if you put all the stories together, you don't have a true Happy End in Birth by Sleep. Because all you do during this story is completly useless! None of the three heroes were successful, they all failed. Terra became the new vessel of Master Xehanort. Ventus destroyed the X-Blade and Vanitas, but also his own heart and fell into a deep slumber. Aqua couldn't save her best friends and is trapped in the Realm of Darkness for more then 10 years! Also when you call to your mind, what will happen with Radiant Garden? It will become Hollow Bastion later! The Land of Departure will transform into Castle Oblivion. All of Ansem's apprentices lost their hearts and became Nobodies. Snow White, Cinderella and Aurora will be captured by Maleficent, their world's will be swallowed by the darkness. And in the end Master Xehanort survived and returned in Dream Drop Distance to contuine with his plans. Nothing of your doings were permanent, just everybody and everything got messed up! I cried when Ventus asked Terra and Aqua to kill him, because he didn't want to live anymore, so that the X-Blade can't be forged. What a sad and pitiful boy! And now he sleeps in the Chamber of Waking, waiting for his heart to be returned. Aqua walks around in the Realm of Darkness for such a long time, I wouldn't be surprised if it drives her crazy. Well if this isn't sad!
