"Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes"- A Solid Sequel That (Almost) Lives Up to Rise and Dawn [Review]

We've seen the epic Caesar trilogy that lead to the planet being ruled by apes, now this fourth installment (and quasi remake of the original film) gives us a fascinating and vast amount of world-building, coupled with some amazing CGI effects and great character arcs. Some of the logic and acting leaves something to be desired. But it's a solid entry into this incredible prequel series.

The Apes movies always struck me as a broad strokes kind of theme, where the actors/apes were going to be lost a bit in the premise. I think it's a success if the apes look/act plausible and the story has a throughline the audience accepts. It could be played very silly and this at least looks like a dramatic/action plot. Thanks for the review!
