William H Macy’s Character represents a Human who has accepted that the world is now ape dominant so any attempts to go back to a human dominant world is pointless and he’s right in his own way. Mae is a character who wants things to go back to the human dominant ways which is why she’s hell bent on returning the world to the way things were when apes didn’t talk. An ongoing theme throughout the movies that humans can’t accept a world they are no longer in control with and instead of coexisting and accepting the new world full of apes would rather try to force things to go back to how they were

What is truly remarkable is how they have made FOUR prequel movies in this franchise so far and NONE have altered the canonical story of the original 1968 movie. They have overwritten some of the later movies canon but not the 1st one, and not really any of the 2nd one. Something else, the original 1968 series took place on the east coast of North America and all this is on the west coast.... this also frees up some the storyline to tell slightly different things.

I'm excited for the eventual remakes of the original Apes trilogy. I hope the end of this trilogy or the start of the next reveals the astronauts that took off in the ship in Rise coming back to Earth hundreds of years later (through a time warp).

i had high expectations for this movie as someone who constantly watched the trilogy growing up, def not the best of the franchise but still awesome, loved noa and everyone’s acting

side thing: the studio that worked on this years ago was working on a live action mouse guard movie. the movie got cancelled so they released scenes they worked on here on youtube if ppl interested to see it.

They did it again! It's incredible how they continue to nail this franchise movie after movie. It's more consistent than the MCU ever has been.

Well considering there's over 30 movies from the Mcu, I'd hope this was more consistent
@richardthemagician89912 ай бұрын
@TheRealZOLO1 I was really only comparing it to the 1st 4 movies of the MCU.
@TheRealZOLO12 ай бұрын
@richardthemagician8991 Well you said "has ever been" so I was considering all of the movies. Also there are multiple movies being made at the same time compared to this being one movie being made at once. Not a fair comparison to consistency. Not to mention the difference in years and directors. I don't mean to sound like a smart guy or anything I just don't think MCU is a fair comparison
@richardthemagician89912 ай бұрын
@@TheRealZOLO1 and I stand by that. "Has ever been" also includes phase 1. My statement was also hyperbole. But I think even upon further examination, it's still accurate.
@TheRealZOLO12 ай бұрын
@richardthemagician8991 I mean it is accurate, it is more consistent, but I don't think superhero movies and movies about apes should be compared as there two different things. Mcu doesn't need to be brought up tbh

The point of his character was to teach Proximus and read to him

I know there’s no obvious link between Noa and Caesar but I think it was a nice choice making Noa look like him if not for any reason other than to honor him

Trevathen reminded me of Red, the gorilla from war. You can see the parallels. Both of them saw their enemies were "winning" so they joined their side to survive, but at least red had some sort of redemption at the end cause he saved caesar at least

I can't help but feel like this movie could've used an hour of scenes showing how Proximus came to power. How did he get a hold of the old guy to do his bidding and teach him? How did it all begin? What did he do to start getting apes to do his bidding and gather other clans for his kingdom? What personal sacrifices and choices did he have to make to get to this point? I feel like they just scrapped the surface with his character, and it would've been interesting to see all that play out. Sometimes less is more, and how he's utilized in this film is still effective. I just personally wish he was introduced earlier and had more screentime via some flash backs. Maybe a 10 minute scene showing a young Proximus deal with a situation with his intelligence and tease what he'd be years later before getting to Noah's story.

If you guys don’t remember that symbol on the necklaces that Raka wore was Caesar’s window in his room from the first movie. Edit: I guess you saw that in the facts on IMDB after the movie.

“Omg they’re demons I hate them so much” Just wanna point out the first movie of the reboot (Rise) had the exact opposite effect. Very successful contrast of storytelling. 💯
