The main benefit of the re-reckoning version is the fact that they fixed the zone level-locks that really seemed out of place in the original. In the original game the zone locks in at whatever level you are when you first enter it, so it's easy to explore and make the game way too easy by accidentally locking in zones at lower levels.

As far as that NPC that gives you the "Tell me a joke" dialogue, here's what I looked up: This is part of a developers room Easter egg called boggart fight club. There's 6 of these dolls around the starting area. You have to talk to them in a specific order you'll know you're doing it right because they'll laugh. After you talk to the sixth doll head over into the inn and find the doll now called boggart fight club and you'll be taken to a room with chaos enemies to look at and a bunch of boggarts who all have their own names. They're enemies but won't attack you. There is a chest that you can loot with a few items in them those being the ring of ludicrous speed which the stats are -99% Damage +50% speed. 3 backpacks and a pet whistle that lets you summon a random pet five minutes."

My favourite build is to get Finesse high enough to get Trollhide armour then concentrate on Sorcery. Later a few more points in finesse to use the Dragon armour, then the rest in sorcery.

I wanted to like this game. I was into it for a while, until i realized the mob variety never changes. You always have 1 big guy and 4 to 5 minions. Thats the mob variety. The abilities, magic, and everything else was cool. Fighting the same variety of mobs was the nail in the coffin for me.

The variety within the mobs never bothered me too much, but I think that comes down to there being a lot of different enemies so the variety being there negates the issue somewhat for me

So this is a good game then. Another thing Bethesda needs to realize - when dual wielding weapons show both weapons when they're holstered. How are you handling playing 3rd person?

You can also wear a necklace as well as two rings for additional Which may be small or quite powerful depending on the item bonuses

Stealth is considerably less use in this game than in most computer RPGs. Possibly the least useful skill. The important one is Detect Hidden. Those initial "god" bonuses are so small they make little difference. You might as well just choose which race looks the way that suits you. I love this game. In fact I'm in the middle of a playthrough right now.

Been playing this game for about a week and im loving it! Im.28 hours in and im playing as a Warlord as i prefer front line combat. The quests are many and varied while some characters actually have a personality with Captain Brattigan, the sex starved female elf sailor being my favorite. I have every intention on finishing this game as i sunk some hours in and want that payoff at the end..whether its good or horribly bad

I played and finished the Skyrim campaign and I have a level 92 character and I'm playing Kingdoms, I can tell you that in terms of combat, history and character building, Amalur is superior.

I'd be a fool not to accept the good items given at the start. It does feel like the more linear advancement of power levels in loot is something that's going into the past, as pre order bonuses, DLC rewards and RNG are present in a lot of games and will often give you better equipment than standard game progression can. I think that both this game and New Vegas are two of the biggest examples I've seen, where early equipment is just kind of worthless if you've got all the DLC installed

I played KoA alot back in the day and the reason i decided to leave this comment is because i was somewhat ticked off that you picked up clearly superior weapons than implied you weren't much impressed by the reward of dear honest Herc, as if you expected something more :D I love your script writing by the way. But the moral of my comment is that there is a genuine feeling of satisfaction when you go through a more natural progression and earn stronger rewards yourself. Worth noting that there is some changes in ReReckoning that i think could've been done much more gracefully. Nontheless even with trying to do things more """hardcore""" you would realize that KoA difficulty drops easily once you've gotten a groove on it, thats why handouts in DLC in a treasure box at the start of the game feels cheap to me. They should've made these DLC as rewards for quests ^^

I kinda liked this game at 1rst, but that story was a bit convoluted (?) a bit messy , and i ddnt click w it, but i wanna give it another shot bc the combat system is great, i felt like a badass fighting in this game! But what i think broke the fun for me ,was that huge treasure box filled w weapons, right at the very 1rst city, and u didn t have to do anything to get it, it was just there! Why? Why so early and why so much loot from the start?!! No!

Combat is definitely the standout part of this game. I did talk about the loot chest in a recent video ("The Pay to Win Problem") as it does make the start of the game a little weird, where early loot becomes kinda pointless

Hopefully, they will continue to improve this game, they will add new charater races or faction, from 4 races the will add two and it become 6 races when we play the game we can choose 6 races on which we would like to play as our character in kingdom of amalur, then they will add new main quest on the game, new items, location or country on the game, on which there are new faces or character like Giants and titans should be, because this game is in the world of magic, kingdom of amalur.

I think you and I must have different ideas of what an incel is. This game was mediocre in 2011. It's still mediocre in 2024. Combat is just enemies spamming high damage projectiles at you or attacking you erratically, stun locking you into oblivion. There's no strategy. All combat situations have stupdendously strong tracking. It's the main reason why players die. It's cheap. Unfair. Lazy. Leveling is still disgustingly slow. It takes forever for you to build the character the way you want. Daggers are still broken and whiff attacks. The charge attack wasn't even fixed. The bosses and mini bosses are a test of patience. I hate them. You hit them a ton until they decide to fall over. Beyond that, bosses just attack during your animations, while surrounding themselves with annoying fodder that will wreck you the same way! Usually boss types do a ton of damage, like the Troll, or they simply exist to ruin your experience entirely, like The Maid Of Windermere. It annoys me how Kingdoms Of Amalur: Re: Reckoning is just a lazy hi res re-release with some slight texture work. Barely nothing has changed. The same issues the original had are fundamentally still here in the remastered version. It's even more glaring since it's 2024. If you're playing anything other than a might build. You're going to hate the combat. The combat is what made Kingdoms Of Amalur tolerable. *12 years ago!* You have to really work for those new skills. What THQNordic should have done was *fix the game from within before cash grabbing into the remastered phase.* Don't buy this unless you have some serious patience for the archaic and unrefined. Or you enjoyed the original to some degree. It's one of those games.

Great game! I have both versions on Steam, and while the new version won't wow you with the changes, they were good enough for me to purchase it again on a Steam sale. I would love to see a quality dev continue this, as long as they didn't ruin it, like they ruined BG. We don't need another rainbow dating sim
