It starts for me very motivating and cool until my legendary items getting suddenly outclassed by normal loot out of nowhere , i need to run again for a quest half an hour to the next location to bash skulls again for the 640th time , level up my characteres abilities to make 5.6% more damage and more receiving damage reduction at the same time , sell/drop loot because my inventory is full again for the 4632th time , must collect some more herbs for a quest again and etc . And i always stop in the middle of the game because im so mentally exhausted by its very repetitive Gameplay alone while the world isnt really that original tbh . Its a cool game and there is big potential in it but they should give more personality for their world and improve the gameplay to be much more an outstanding Rpg than a shallow mentally-grinding hack n slay game with a lame diablo loot system .

Seems what makes the game gave good impression among many players comes from the mindset of those players who is (or was at that time) being fans of WoW or any MMO games, hence the archaic styles and repetitious combat is mitigated by the fact of how it was designed as hack and slash, also to the fact of the games released around those times were gritty modern-setting FPS releases for the most part (even Skyrim uses washed-out visual art styles to follow the trends) Perhaps those late 2006 to 2013 times ended up lowered down the game's standards from the eras of 2005, Deus Ex/Morrowind generation and even older PS1 eras

Since then, it's like a good majority of game developers (and even movie directors) either forgot what makes a game/movie good/enjoyable or deliberately ignored it all for the sake of just getting a product out there. Most recent example would be the Last of Us 2: "We added the ability to go prone, silencers for weapons, and actual stealth mechanics." Y'know, stuff that has been in video games since, well, two decades ago. Or how about the Assassin's Creed series: "We're gonna add the ability to crouch and hide behind walls... in the fifth game of our series where the whole point is to be a stealthy assassin..." One of my favorite games that got me into fantasy rpg’s being bashed cause it’s an complex old game that came out in the when there just weren’t a lot of games like this. Character customization; got three different skill trees that you can mix and match your skill points into and from there depending on how many points you have in a skill tree you unlock more and more Fate Cards, witch gives bonuses like +15% dmg or replacing the dodge with a teleport and a ton of other benefits. In game lore: there is a shit ton of this. Like an overstuffed suitcase it just spills out with in depth dialog with npc’s, lore stones, and books. Re-reckoning the dlc’s: both The Teeth of Narcos with the Colossi and the Ghost ship Island dlc’s were very fun to explore and play through. With unique weapons & armor for each category of equipment. Look, I’ll be the first to admit that this game is dated and in some areas of the game repetitive and “a fantasy of fantasy game”. For those who have never played it or won’t play it because of this video, just try it. Wait till you can get it on sale and try it for yourself, you got a 18+ hour fantasy RPG packed with expansive lore, fantastic fighting animations, unique weapons & armor, magic spells and passive boosts that show you how powerful your character is. I don’t know when or why it became a thing on KZbin to start bashing good games that came out years ago thinking that they’ll be as good as the games we play today. That’s not how gaming development works. It all changes over time, for ALL genres, companies that make the games, the people that play them, and the view of the public. All of these things change, adapt, evolve and grow. Remember like when pay 2 win started becoming a thing? How about when loot boxes were being considered gambling? Everything is changing and constantly moving forward. We as gamers forgot WHY we play games in the first place. It’s just a bunch of code and scripts that we get to play around in, experience and experiment with. An escape of various different parts of each of our own personal lives. So in the end of it all, you wanna play this game? Play it. Don’t bother with videos like this, or even comments like mine. I LOVE this game. But that’s just it, ‘I love’ that’s just me. No one besides you can tell you if you would like a game or not and the worst thing any gamer can do is say that you won’t like this or you won’t have a good time with that. I like to think damn near all the gamers reading this can tell when a game is worth the effort or not. But even then a broken half finished game that works and is playable but has had nothing but shitty people play it and write reviews on it, YOU could still have a fantastic time playing said game. Hell I only really play Skyrim & Fallout NV//Fallout 4 because I love to break those games with mods and cheats or spawning things

Visually very similar to Dragon Age, even if it doesn't play like it.

I thought I was crazy for thinking this game’s combat was all flash no substance, I really did. I was like “there’s so many moves, why isn’t this fun?”

You get to play as Kbash in this game?!?!? SOLD

Personally, I prefer Fable 2 to KoA, at least you have a puppy.(Scooby Doo/cowardly dog) and somewhat better options for wardrobe.

Might get this next month if I get the money

It's value for money because the game takes forever to finish if you do every sidequest. I did finish it and I enjoyed it, but the replay value is zero, because you can fully respec your character at any time. So you may as well do every quest you come across on the first playthrough, because if you're like most people, one time through it will be enough.

though the criticisms are valid i feel if you played the came when it came out you would feel differently because a lot of modern games took from KoA.

This video reminded that bimbo was originally a negative word to other people, and is still used as much. I legit forgot

KBash please I need to know what the "plastic" entails in the bimbo fantasy subgenre
@Nipah.Auauau3 жыл бұрын
"plastic" in this case usually means it feels fake and cheap/low-quality. For an actual bimbo, imagine someone who over-does their appearance with too much makeup, too much fake tan, tacky over-sexual clothes. Their personality is about as interesting as a wet carrot, they have no hobbies beyond browsing their social media of choice, any question starting with "What's your favorite..." only leads to a drawn out pause and a shrug. For a video game imagine it looks cheap because the local town isn't colorful with generic buildings and few decorations, it looks fake because the npcs in town don't have a logical reason to be doing what they are doing/standing where they are, they would make more sense as lifeless mannequins someone put there to take up space instead of living inhabitants of a fantasy town.
