Kids have taste and they will gravitate towards things they find appealing just like everyone else, so to dumb it down to “appeal to them more” would be totally counterproductive. The fact that this show keeps getting better and better has me very excited to see what happens next, I’m glad it hasn’t been like Hazbin Hotel so far where the pilot is really good and has great concepts that don’t get expanded on in a well-written manor for literally every episode after. Not that the episodes after the pilot of Hazbin Hotel are bad, but they’re not good either imo. The songs also add nothing to the story, and usually just repeat everything you already know without adding any insight to character development, the characters motivations, exposition, etc. literally all the songs do is restate the obvious and they’re not even good. The pilot genuinely is the best episode of the series, and it had very good potential imo it just didn’t live up to said potential

I have a theory that’s a bit crazy, but I think Jax is going to abstract in one of the later episodes. Think about it, the people who abstracted allegedly were isolated, gave up, and were driven to insanity. Jax is shown isolating himself from the main group at the end of episodes 2 and 3, and he is clearly hopeless in episode 1 when he states several times there’s no way out. All that’s left is for him is to be driven insane, and he’s abstracted. Maybe pomni will save him before he fully abstracts, but it ain’t looking good for him.

I don't agree that this is a message about masking, Kinger as no reason to want or need to hide his true self from others. this is a very direct message about people who struggle with memory loss and insanity, and shows that they are still people even if they're not always themselves or can't be "cured". kinger was a gentle and caring person before he lost his mind, and he's still that person deep down, he just isn't connected to the same reality anymore. there was ways to ground him temporarily, but it's not something that the crew can fix. but even if he can't remember the important memories and acts crazy sometimes, he's still someone worthy of love.

I like the cute detail of him hating computer bugs but end up becoming fascinated with real bugs because of his wife. His goofier side was probably developed as a coping mechanism and the truama of losing his wife and being in the circus for so long affected his memory, but I feel like Kinger always knows who he is and know matter what wants to be there for his friends, its just that the dark makes him think more clearly and brings him back to an older state of mind

Surprised you didn't mention the "Seven years of computer science for this" comment, but I guess that just lead back to the pilot and whatever C & A is.

That’s why he built the pillow fort because it’s dark inside

Also he talked about something the lines of "8 years of engineering for this" I think he remember atleast one thing from his past life? But then that would be a plot hole

I heard rumors of Kinger having a wife in the fandom, I know the main writer gooseworx info dumps sometimes on her tumblr, but when possessed Pomni straight up just asked, "how's your wife kinger?" my jaw dropped. I actually shed a tear watching this episode because of the truth it's trying to convey. With shows like Amazing Digital Circus (not like popular animated shows but more like shows that have a depressing setting like the zombie apocalypse or psychologically horrific situations) I have a hard time finding shows that show hope and healing and real personification of their main characters instead of just using them as just depicting how terrible their lives are. With Amazing Digital Circus I really liked the premise, and was a fan of Goosewrox before this series really took off, but I am really glad they are not afraid to keep going with humanizing their characters. I loved Kinger in this episode but even characters like Zooble's self insecurity being revealed in reflection of Caine's insecurity in Zooble not liking his adventurers getting explored more in the B plot of this episode too really set this to be my favorite episode so far too. And the fact Pomni didn't end the episode totally traumatized by the end of the adventure is a huge tone shift that keeps the show fresh and not just playing the same note again but allowing it's self to evolve past the main hook and actually being a medium of legitimate and good story telling. Hope in crappy situations is necessary to get through them, and without it stories like this just don't work and end up feeling like a slog fest. I'm exited to see what they do in the future.
