Hello Folks! I found a dispersed camping spot in the Ozark National Forest that is located very near several attractions including Whitaker Point, Kings River Falls and numerous waterfalls and hiking trails. You could spend several months checking out the local areas surrounding this dispersed camping spot just enjoying the scenery and nature. A couple of the places in the area are highly trafficked and would suggest going early mornings and during the weekday. If you love creeks, hiking and waterfalls, this is definitely a place for you!

🤣I was the same way your wife is. Me, my husband and 15 yr old went the day after Christmas this year. I was a nervous wreck. I threatened them both to not be monkeying around. I stayed as far away from the edge as possible. When we got there I was surprised at how big the point is and was able to go about half way out onto it. I was so proud of myself and SO glad I did it.

Excellent video, as always. I wasn’t aware of this area and will now keep it in mind for future travels. I was hoping that you would be able to fly the drone at the fire watchtower! I’ve heard of some manned-towers not allowing drones as they are considered federal installations, though I can’t imagine a drone doing any harm. An abandoned watchtower seems a perfect subject. That’s an amazingly dense forest and I hope it remains fire-free, even without someone in the tower.
@DispersedCamperMan
@DispersedCamperMan 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. After watching my drone footage, I noticed a large white camera in the fire tower pointing out a window. I think they view for fires remotely, through the camera. Pretty neat fire tire for sure!
@marzsit9833
@marzsit9833 2 жыл бұрын
that tower is fenced off for a couple of reasons, one is that they don't want any liability if someone were to get injured on the site, the other is that the tower is obviously being used to host radio repeaters for the forest service's communications network. from your drone shots it looks like all of the fire spotting equipment has been removed from the tower, probably hasn't been used for fire watching in many years.
@DispersedCamperMan
@DispersedCamperMan 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, also they are probably trying to cut down on vandalism. From the drone shot, I could see a large camera pointing out of a window. I do believe it is still actively watching for fires, remotely, by camera and like you said, also being used to place radio repeaters on. Beautiful area it is.

Nice video. I'm a desert guy with a camper similar to yours and although I lived back east when I was a kid I haven't traveled east of Kansas in many decades...too many trees! Seems like all the hikes would end up being the same as opposed to the desert southwest. However, I've been curious about what's out there...I have a sister in Tulsa and if I visit I'll just head east for some camping/hiking/biking. Looks like it's way too hot and humid right now! You pulling a trailer these days?...I'm going to be buying a Honda CRF300 dual sport as soon as they become available again and haul it with a hitch rack. Looks like you've got a bigger bike now?...maybe that's why you got the trailer. Anyway...take it easy and keep the videos coming. I've actually stayed at quite a few places you have...mostly wintertime in Arizona.

I’ve been following your videos. Are you from Arkansas? I love to camp in the Buffalo area but how do you find the dispersed sites up there? Specific maps you use? I tent camp at the horse camp right next to Cecil Cove Loop trail. Have you seen that? It’s a long way off the highway on a dirt road so that probably deters a lot of people - which is a big reason I like it! Hardly anyone there!
@DispersedCamperMan

Thanks for watching, I hope you find my vids useful. I am from Arkansas. I haven't been out to the Buffalo area yet, it's one big National Park which drone flying isn't allowed in its borders, which is one of the main reasons I haven't been out in that area yet. But I do plan on making it out that way sometime in the future. When I'm out in an area dispersed camping. I explore around me and look for other camping spots I might be interested in coming back to camp at. I carry a motorcycle which allows me to explore an area fast and the majority of my camping spots I've found that way. I'll also use google maps (satellite view) and check areas out also. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions! Thanks for watching! and I've got the horse camped marked, and will eventually find my way out there. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have been spending the hot summer months at 7K feet or higher elevations and haven't run my AC once. The AC is why I bought a 30amp generator 2 years ago which is collecting dust. @@andrewh9281 I got there from hwy 16 to Cave Mt Rd then onto 1410. Forest Road 1410 wasn't bad at all. There was a RV Trailer parked there the entire time I was there. I was wanting to camp there, but it was already taken. There is no cell service at that location either. It was a fairly open area, I wanted to camp there hoping my starlink internet would work there. LOL
