Being a huge fan of older Total War titles and Europa Universalis 4 watching your videos really brings me the same fascination as playing those games. Felling into these battles, feeling the drama occurring within these empires. It‘s like watching and playing the best gameplay ever. Regarding Uthman's burning of the quran: As for Othman’s collection, may God be pleased with him, it is narrated in Al-Bukhari that Hudhayfah bin Al-Yaman, may God be pleased with him, came to Medina from the invasion of Armenia, and he entered upon Othman, who was the Commander of the Faithful at that time, before he entered his house, and said: Reach out to this nation before it perishes. He said: What about that? He said... in the Book of God, and he mentioned to him the differences of people in the recitations and their disputes and the appearance of some of them as infidels of others, and other things... So Othman gathered the Muhajireen and the Ansar and consulted with them about that, and they agreed to combine it according to what was authentic and proven in the famous recitations from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and to leave out what He changed it, and his opinion was sound and successful, so he commissioned a group of companions to collect it, and they gathered it into one Qur’an, and they made copies of it, so Othman sent them to the cities, and they remained with him. Copy in Medina, this is the last plural. Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, said: If I had been the governor at the time of Uthman, I would have done the same thing with the Qur’an Othman did. God knows. Related materials 93

About the death of zubayr ibn al awwam I like to correct the fact he was assassinated by ( Amr ibn Jarmouz) when he was praying the same way umar was Traitorously murdered , he said he wanted to travel with zubayr and when the time if prayer came he killed him from behind something he proudly admitted himself to ali, which tgen Ali told him " you shouldn't be proud of what you did, I heard from the prophet that the murdere of zubayr will be guaranteed hell, you lost your after life"... Zubayr wasn't trying to flee when he got killed, thats the nonsense chia like to make up to disrespect a great warrior who since day 1 when he accepted Islam at the age of 14 to his death at over 62 years of age has always been known for his courage that was on the border of suicidal.... Zubayr was famous for his skills as a first class warrior and just being one of the best warriors of his time, the guy participated in over a 100 millitary campaigns since the age of 14 and survived through all of them and (jarmouz) was well aware of that he was scared to fight him head on, he knew it was suicide to fight zubayr like that so he opted for the cowardly way of back stabing a 62 year old zubayr while he was prostrating in prayer......

I Love early islamic history and their formation into an expansive empire, truly remarkable. I also find it fascinating how small tribes once united by a charismatic leader end up conquering most of the world. i.e Muslims, Mongols, Persians,Roman, Greeks etc they were all small tribes until a visionary had bigger dreams. Also find it fascinating that the tribes were made to fight amongst one another by the established empire at the time because they knew their unification would cause trouble.

The lack of centrally appointed governors led to intertribal warfare among the Arab settlers in Khorasan, with local princes refusing to pay tribute and even launching raids into the region by the Hephthalite princes.The Mudari leader Abd Allah ibn Khazim al-Sulami established himself as the de facto ruler of Khorasan until 691, when the victorious Umayyads encouraged his rivals to revolt, ultimately leading to his death. Prior to that, he had massacred about 8,000 of his rivals from the Rabi'a and Bakr ibn Wa'il tribes. The surviving members of Abd Allah's followers

@@EM-tx3ly Arabs are very tibal and uniting them was the most difficult task for the early islamic caliphate, it took prophet Muhammad 20 years to unite them and after they were united they disbanded again the moment he died, that led to the Ridda wars in an effort to unite them again by the rashidun caliphate and it was a very bloody conflict.

Your effort in the video is great, but there's a significant adoption of weaker narratives because they are more dramatic, such as Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr's participation in the siege of Uthman, or that Uthman favored his relatives, or that the compilation of the Quran faced huge controversy, even though the more reliable and stronger narratives can be found in the same book, which is the History of Tabari. I hope there will be a broader consideration of different narratives and accuracy in the future.

@@rafitohornero3850 it’s definitely profitable if your not a school type and don’t plan on making money back. I had a great situation helped keep my costs down but not everyone is lucky. Try to take a few community college classes on welding or electrical work to see if you’re up for it. Then after getting a certificate get an apprenticeship.

@@rafitohornero3850 if you can drive, look into getting a CDL, some companies will pay for your classes if you promise to work for them for x years. Otherwise see if you can find an apprenticeship; plumbing, electrical, carpentry, whatever. Hardest route (but imo best $$) is try to get in entry level IT work like Service Desk or something, and if you can afford it a boot camp, then work your way up to tier 3 Engineering I'm technically a "Tradesman" but I work as an engineer now

Tunisian Muslim here, originally from a Jewish berber tribe, my ancestors were once Jews who were forced to convert to Islam. All of us in north Africa those who have berber roots have Christian or Jewish roots.

16;20 Mohammad Ibn Abu Hanifiya was Ali's son by marriage only, but he was in fact half-brother of Ayesha as both were children of the first caliph Abu Bakar. Ali had married Mohammad Ibn Hanifiya's mother after her first husband Abu Bakar died. Mohammad Ibn Abu Bakar is the same person named at 19;25.

As always the extent of research to do those videos is insane, big respect. As I started reasently doing more research on history of the middle east region before the coming of Islam (a part of history I didn't know a lot about) , because of your video on the battle of (dhi qar) which is a battle that not a lot arabes or Muslim know about much less people for outside that culture, becose of your video I stanbled upon a very interesting and insane pre Islamic event that happened just before the birth of the last prophet of Islam and it is (the Basus War) or (the basus civil war) which lasted for 40 years because of a story of honor. That civil war gives you an idea of how dangerous living in the desert was before Islam came and on the mindset the arabes had back then and how leaving in that environment hardened them which no doubt unintentionally prepared in their early lighting quonquest against the persian, Romans and pagan arabs. What Trigger that civil war and the events that followed are both epic and helarious at the same time but also, sad, funny and badass. When I started reading about it I couldn't stop. .

ok ... here is my Rant for this episode I had to stop watching to correct a huge mistake, I wanted to mention this in your previous video about the first Fitnah, but sadly I didn't because I am a lazy dude) it about how you presented the "burning" of the Quran ... although I am not a big expert in the Islamic history but I am knowledgeable enough to be surprised about the claim that the up rising against Othman - God rest his soul - had to do with "Buring" of the Quran, not only I never heard of that, but what Othman did - God rest his soul - was not controversial at all. what he did had nothing to do with the Quran but rather how to WRITE IT. to clear few things: -The Quran is not the book, it is the "Words", the written book is called "Mushaf", not Quran. -The Quran is passed down through passing of the words, mouth to ear (up to this day), not through the written "Mushaf" -There are multiple ways to recite the Quran (there is a full branch of Quranic studies called the Methods of Recitation), all these methods were taught by the Prophet peace be upon him. Some words might have different pronunciation, different dialects were used, different tones of voice/sound, and even different words. -The Arabs at their early years where an illiterate nation, they never relayed on writing, only on memory to pass down anything.... thus very few people knew how to write and on top of that, the written Arabic was very primitive, the majority of letters had no unique shape of their own, for example the Letters ب, ت, ث, ن had one shape to present them all, the letters س , ش and ص, ض were the same case, you can see that the "dots" are the only way to tell them a part ... there was no dots back then, not to mention no punctuation, nor movement markings of letters ( ٌ , ً , ِ ) which are small markers that tells you how the letter are pronounced within the word it self, the same word with same letters can be completely different words depending on how the letters are pronounced, for example : سحر and سحر have the same letters but actually 2 different words, سَحَر is what the "time before dawn" is called, while سِحْر means "magic" ( ya Arabic language hates you). -For native Arabs, these are not issues, they can understand and differentiate between the different recitation methods without any problem, there was no need for written "Mushaf", however that turned out to be a nightmare for new non Arabs Muslims, they are not natives, Arabic is a very VERY vast language, the Quran is the pinnacle of that language, and they are not used to relay on their memories as the Arabs are. So they have to relay on a written version (that does not exist except for the one "Mushaf" that was joined at the time of the first Caliph Abu Bakr - God rest his soul - ) so they had to relay on whatever scraps or scrolls they find with the prophet's companions who came to their lands.... rare scrolls that could contain the personal notes of the companion, some of the prophet's teaching , some verses or chapters that could be written according to how ever the companion chose to write it based on what ever method of recitation he chose (Arabic writing was very primitive back then with virtually no rules for writing it) -So here you have a people who are not native to a language, a language that happens to be one of the most complicated and vast languages, these people are learning the "Words of God" (the Quran) that is the pinnacle of that language, a Quran that has a unique style and method of speaking and pronunciation that is different than the language itself, and this unique way has multiple ways to recite within it. On top of that, this Quran is passed through memory not by writing , and the writing capabilities for that Super language is primitive, no dots, no movement marking for letters, no punctuation and no dictation rules. this is like a 10 years old driving a spaceship that has no manual And that is a recipe for disaster.... and that exactly what was about to happen. -When the Muslims army were facing the Sassanid and requested reinforcement form the armies at the byzantine side, newly convert Muslims from the Byzantine territory met for the newly convert Muslims from the Sassanid territory and discovered that they are reciting the Quran different than each other (depending on who taught them), they almost fought each other, if it wasn't for the prophets companions who were present, interfering and explaining that these different ways are all correct. -That incident alarmed one of the prophet's companion (I forgot who he was ) and he informed the 3rd Caliph, and that when the decision of writing a unified "Mushaf" (not Quran) emerged, the main purpose was to prevent conflict among new non Arabic converts, and have a unified base written version for non Arabs to refer to. and to prevent having multiple written versions (because of the multiple recitation methods) that non Arabs wont be able to tell them a part nor to tell them from a fake one. -That is how the "Othmanic Font/writing method" was born, a special way to write the Quran in a way that could contain as much as possible of the different recitation methods, a special front and dictation rules were used that is different form the one used for the language itself. The Muslims up to this day agreed that the "Mushaf" must not be written in another way (except for educational purposes). -Once that new standardized written version was complete, any other written scraps, scrolls, wooden tablet were burned (duh) and I think 4 copies were made and sent to the corners of the Caliphate with a SKILLED RECIETER accompanying each one, to teach people how to recite (because the "Mushaf" doesn't cover that). and this is why, up to this day, certain methods of recitation are more common in certain parts of the Islamic world than others, for example in west Africa the method of "Warsh" is more widely used than in the Middle East where the method of "Hafs" is more commonly used. -The "Mushaf" served as written reference of the Quran, but it is NOT The Quran, it doesn't matter if you have 12 Ph.D's in Arabic language, you still won't be able to recite the Quran correctly by reading from the "Mushaf", you need to learn it directly from someone who learned directly from some one who learned it directly from some -------> until you reach the prophet peace be upon him. (and that is a certification called the "Sanad", which link you in a continuous chain of reciters to the Prophet - Peace be upon him - ) -The Quran (with its different methods of recitation) is still preserved, but not through the written "Mushaf", and while the Quran is preserved and never changed (with all the different methods) the "Mushaf" keeps changing, across the times, more modifications were added, the addition of dots to letters , the special letters markers and punctuation markers that are unique to the Quran, numbering the verses, dividing it to 30 parts, dividing each part to 2 "Hizb" dividing each "Hizb" into quarters, up to using color coded letters and words to indicate certain pronunciation and sound extensions (that was used for the first time couple of decades ago). not to mention special "Mushaf"s that are written according to a certain recitation method that is used only educational purposes.

As for the method of performing them, there are slight differences, such as moving the finger when pronouncing the Shahada or the position of the hand. For your information, if you follow any Sunni school of thought, your prayers are valid according to all Sunni schools of thought. As for the Shiites, there are prayers that they do not pray. have to see i'm addicted to K&G being an ex wargamer, the battle maps are tops, especially the shaking of the generals to show when they are pissed off and little explosions when they die. great combo of history info with visuals to understand. the graphics are a bit mills and boon. shame they cant use footage from movies. no doubt copyright. not often i'll sit through 3.5 hours of KZbin fascinated by the Arab conquests. Would be great if they teamed up with Netflix and did a doco movie with the clarity of those brilliant maps. Tactics and strategy are made clear. If they could give clear visuals of the weaponry and battles would be better - using some of the gaming pc on era.

time 4;40 The Quran was collected and compiled in the reign of Abu Bakar a couple of years after the Prophet's (PBUH) death. As is natural for any language Arabic spoken by different tribes and in different regions, had minor variations or dialects. Arabs understood these differences as any whose mother tongue was Arabic, but new converts had problems with these different dialects. So Othman decreed that only the Quran in the Arabic dialect of the City of Mecca the natural dialect of the prophet would be kept and all other dialects would be abolished. The Quran in different dialects was not different in meaning only in pronunciation.
