Lyrics:
I've been roaming around
Always looking down at all I see
Painted faces, fill the places I can't reach
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you, and all you know, and how you speak
Countless lovers under cover of the street
You know that I could use somebody
You know that I could use somebody
Someone like you"

This song makes me cry every single time I listen to it. When this song was released my father was out of work for over a year thanks to the recession and my mother was on her death bed thanks to swine flu, sepsis and severe pneumonia. This song kept me strong through some of the toughest times in my life. By the grace of God and Kings of Leon my father found work and my mother made a full recovery when everything was against us. Amazing how something you hear can cause such an emotional breakdown.

This isnt just a song. It is the experience of rock in one video. The city lights that fill your body with ecstacy as you listen an awesome guitar riff, the voices in the back singing the "uoooh" which brings a melancholy feeling but somehow intense joy at the same time, the live shows that bring thousands of people together all raising their hands and singing as only one spirit, the time you spent with your friends, having fun, sharing and living their dreams, feeling connected by the music, the girlfriends you had and loved and how despite everything they made you feel that no matter what with them by your side everything would be all right. All that memories that will never leave. That is rock. And it's the only thing that I know.

I genuinely loved it, he brought such positive energy. He even helped me catch my first ever fish and a few years ago whilst in his late 30s he had passed away, in which I saw him in his back garden in the sun tanning a few weeks before he had passed. The way music makes us feel as humans is the most curious and interesting thing and I don’t think there’s a single thing that can make us feel the same way as we do with music. Nothing more unique and complex than music It can bridge the gap of time between humans of different time periods and still be understood as clearly as something said in ones native language. It’s just beautiful.

Just because I'm single doesn't mean I'm lonely. I am 27 and have never had a boyfriend and don't know if I want one, ever lol. My motto is "I'd rather be single than used" plus I'm I enjoy my solitude. I have a couple family members, and my precious children (which happen to be animal children) I love them so much I don't know what to do with myself sometimes lol. And maybe one or two human friends. single does not equal lonely..
@chosenpuncake9389
@chosenpuncake9389 Жыл бұрын
@@Ichangedmyname1221 You can be a strong and independent person. But for how long? at a point in life you will seek a partner. And this song speaks for them. 27 is still very young, I am 24 myself also single since birth. I want a stable life, partner comes later. I have to say that it starts getting heavy without someone to lift you up. :) Having friends and family members is good but there are 2 type of lonely. The ones disconnected from society and the ones surrounded by society yet lonely. There will be a time when you want something more different more intimate than friends and family. But this is the words of a young man, I could also be wrong. :)

Time only flies when we mature and reach adulthood, reasons why life felt so long when we were young is because we didn’t take into consideration and the fact we didn’t truly understand time, now when we’re older, we understand the concept of time and when we do that time just then seems to fly by!

Nostalgia is only a problem when it's a permanent state, when it becomes a detriment to the present. But it's not always a bad thing. Sometimes the past were better days for people, when illness and loss have completely changed their lives things like music can very quickly invoke memories of "better times". The reason I agreed with the comment is this song reminds me of time spent with an important person in my life who died suddenly in 2010. The reminder is not intentional. it just happens when you hear certain music etc. that you were into during that time. Other than that I agree, you shouldn't dwell on the past too long and you should live for the moment as much as you can without fucking up your future.. but its ok to take a breath sometimes and remember. Some people are worth remembering from time to time!

LYRICS: I've been roaming around Always looking down at all I see Painted faces, fill the places I can't reach You know that I could use somebody You know that I could use somebody Someone like you, and all you know, and how you speak Countless lovers under cover of the street You know that I could use somebody You know that I could use somebody Someone like you Off in the night, while you live it up, I'm off to sleep Waging wars to shape the poet and the beat I hope it's gonna make you notice I hope it's gonna make you notice Someone like me Someone like me Someone like me, somebody I'm ready now [4x] Someone like you, somebody [3x] I've been roaming around, Always looking down at all I see
