The Purifier was a character that always intrigued me. His name itself "The Purifier" is a high ranking title in the Necromonger army, second-in-command to the Lord Marshall. Ranks in this army means strength, with the Lord Marshall being the strongest. So this means that the Purifier is also a very strong warrior. Add to the fact that he's Furyan would make sense of this. It's a shame he didn't team up with Riddick. I have a feeling they would've taken on the whole army.

If I have a gripe about the film, it would be about the Purifier. Not his acting, which was amazing. But being a Furyan with Furyan energy, those sensor people would have easily detected it in him. The LM was so paranoid about Furyans due to the prophecy that he would have killed the Purifier, if not immediately then even after he was converted. Especially if he was believed to be the last living one. There's no way the LM would have allowed him to survive, let alone rise through his ranks to become #2.

I've seen this movie many times and one thing I realized. It might be foreshadowing for the purifier to be something more than he is but he was the one that let Riddick out of the Oracle trap during the "Kill the Furian, Kill the Riddick scene". Probably once he heard that Riddick was a Furian Survivor.
@mish3752 жыл бұрын
You see look of restrained surprise on his face before he frees Riddick. As the Elemental said, Furyans are a race of stubborn resistance that can survive anywhere. So the Pruifier probably saw Riddick as the best hope to take down the Lord Marshall.

They didn´t have enough money for more expanded universe, aka Underverse. But it´s definitely planed to make a movie which takes place in the Underverse because in the director´s cut of Riddick (the third movie) there´s the very final scene where Riddick kills Krone (The Guy with Fucked Up Face) in the Necro spaceship and then he looks through the big round window into the Threshold of the Underverse in front of the ship.

Just watched the Director’s cut which I think improved it overall but some of the extra early included scenes give too much away about Riddick’s heritage too soon. But you could tell that once they excised that they felt the need to excise everything tied to them like the scene where he has the vision and gains Furyan energy to repel Vaako’s kill shot on Crematoria. Enjoyed getting some more scenes between Karl Urban and Thandie Newton. They should have waited until they either had the budget or the resources to continue in the vein of Chronicles. The 3rd movie was ultimately a waste of time.

It's a space ship that has to withstand entry to multiple planets It would definitely have to be super heat resistant. Like America's space shuttles but way wayyy better
@thomasg3049 Жыл бұрын
@@swappedoutZ71 yes you are right it is very heat resistant. I think the leather also helps him at first to walk as if nothing had happened. we can see that he has leather pants and a long leather coat. leather can withstand high temperatures and a good time in the fire. his head starts to burn while his leather pants are not damaged, withstand well and protect his legs. if he had closed his long leather coat, leather would have withstand a little longer and better protected his body. he would have walked further without falling. I wondered why he wears so much leather.why is he entirely dressed in leather? This is to make him threatening and dominant. leather is a powerful material. seeing him with a long leather coat, leather pants, leather boots and leather gloves makes him intimidating and dominant

@@MetalheadBen89 lol. I was talking about the heat properties of leather and that it is normal for leather to withstand a few moment and this allows it to work normally for a few seconds. why is he entirely dressed in leather? Yeah but the fact he's half ash by that point and his muscles would certainly not work, plus the fact that the heat would have burst his lungs, melted his brain and all other internal organs rendering him dead, I mean in reality there'd not be enough oxygen to breath on the entire planet, let alone where they are stood in a little doorway, they'd have been cooked right there, but alas it is Holywood and not real life
@thomasg30493 жыл бұрын
@@aidenfielding9709 the heat is 350degree. less strong than a fire. it isn t strong enough to destroy it so quickly. he can walk at first. he is much more resistant than a man. although his skin is burning, he can still walk. his leather clothes also protect him at first ...

Played by Linus Roache, William Roaches (Ken Barlow in Coronation Street) son. I wish we'd seen more of him in Riddick - he played it well. It would have been good to have another Furyan in the film series.
