In my opinion, this is one of the best action sci-fi movies ever. It's criminally underrated. There is so much in this film, you can't get it all in one watching. @thinkforyourself2109 Жыл бұрын
@@ForgottenLore Some of the actors in it are not great, I agree, but the story is one the best sci-fi plots ever. King Vidor's Our Daily Bread (1934) is comparable: truly bad acting but a great morality tale. One thing I like about Chronicles is that on the surface it's just an action SF movie, vehicle for vin Diesel, etc -- but beneath the surface it's an epic story rich with symbolism. Chronicles really deserve its own tv series. There are so many complex characters and layers in the Necromonger / New Mecca / Furya universe, it deserves such a show.

@psychotrixAVMC8 ай бұрын
Dunno about that specific timing, but this is a short version of the scene. The bigger version of the movie tells part of the Furyan story and why the Lord Marshal is doing this campaign. In this particular scene, when the Lord Marshal handles the dagger to Riddick, they stand off defiantly grabbing the dagger and the Lord Marshal dialogues to Riddick (similar to this): LM: Are you familiar to me ? Have we met on some distant battle field ? R: You would think I would remember. LM: Yes, you would think I would too. Then the LM releases the dagger and the scene follows as it is here. I believe that version of the movie you do not have so much chatter of Riddick's thoughts, as you have been introduced to a greater context. On the short version of the movie, you have a lot of Riddick's thoughts, as he wonders what is happening and what's he gonna do next. I figure they had to do this to give some follow-able arc, since the bigger picture is missing. In fact it is absolutely amazing how both versions seem to tell a very different story with just a few scenes and speech differences. The bigger version is more complete and adds more sense to the whole movie - albeit it is a more "standard" traditional arc of good vs bad. The shorter version is more neutral and unbiased - the good vs bad is not so clear (because you never know about Riddicks' past and what he has done) - amazing how they pulled that one off.

I was a bit gutted by the last one, it had the Riddick feel to it but this film had so much going on. Id like a series to be made out of it, it has so many facets with all the different worlds and differently evolved humans its potential to tell stories is huge. Also, Keira, maybe there is some kind of Necro technology where at the end she was maybe saved, she should of been in the next film, its like Ripley and Newt in Aliens, they built up a story with 2 great characters and then ones killed off, i think it was an error i really liked her style.

Самый лучший фильм из трилогии, на мой взгляд. Всё великолепно! Особенно парочка господ Вако!

Now a prequel showing the creation and rise of them and really attacking the Furian planet would make more money than this AVATAR 2 movie that just came out today.

I love how ridiculous Vargo's dialogue is. And, for that matter, how ridiculous everyone else's dialogue is.

Thandie Newton back in the day was it boy. She wasn’t in the conversation too much because of Halle, Johansson J-lo Beyoncé and a few other names but she was definitely on the list

I love this Movie. I call myself a "Conspiracy Dude", and I look for all types of "Head Games". --- The Crowd watched as the "Lord Marshall", EASILY "Swiped the Soul" from "Dissenter". --- Here's what the Movie is NOT telling the Audience. --- The "Dissenter" was actually a SPY for the Necromongers, which was why the "Dissenter" was so "Brave". --- Not shown in the Movie, the "Dissenter" and the "Lord Marshall", had secretly agreed that the "Lord Marshall" would ALLOW "Dissenter", to somewhat RESIST the Necromongers, so that "Dissenter" could CONTROL THE OPPOSITION. --- Thus, "Dissenter" had previously SWORN AN OATH to the "Lord Marshall". That's WHY "Lord Marshall" so EASILY "Swiped the Dissenter's Soul". --- The "Dissenter" had FAILED TO CONSIDER, that "Dissenter" would provide MUCH MORE VALUE to the "Lord Marshall", as an EXAMPLE, than as "Controlled Opposition". --- Same technique that was used in "Star Wars", when Darth Vader choked the Dude to death. --- Tough job, bein' a Spy. You NEVER REALLY KNOW who's on your side.

Can't get over the fact that "Vaako" in my native language sounds like cow, although the spelling is different.
