I love seeing this. I lived there in the 90s, and I still think of it as the best time in my life (so far). I bet it was a blast growing up there in the days of The Armadillo etc. 👍👍

I first saw Kinky at the Texas Opry House on Richmond in Houston in 1975. Got a picture of my Mom and Kinky when he ran for Governer. She passed right after that. She enjoyed her day.

When we lived in NYC, my late wife and I would go to the Lone Star Cafe on Fifth Avenue to see Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys, drink Lone Star long necks, and eat bbq that was cooked in Texas, packed in dry ice and flown to New York every weekend. There was a giant iguana sculpture on the roof made by the MCC Art dept. Those were the glory days of the band, with hits like Ride 'em Jewboy and Asshole from El Paso. Ahh... it was the best of times, etc...

Kinky would go on KVET radio station often in the 90s and early 2k with Sammy Allred and Bob Cole. That was classic radio and they allowed us to call in and ask questions on air. Kinky was great
