Perplexing Chimera is essentially used a stax piece or for stealing a payoff spell. It can also act as a worse Mindbreak Trap with how the triggers get put on the stack

Some recommendations, Mons: 1. Instead of those very dense histograms with number of counterspell, you can just plot a scatter plot with x axis number of counterspells and y axis winrate, will be much easier to read 2. Absolute win rates are very hard to keep track of when it’s not centered around 25%. I suggest either reporting differences or relative change. Example, for tezzeret instead of reporting 21.61%, you can either report the difference in winrate, so 21.61-20.74=+0.87%, or the relative change, ie (21.61-20.74)/20.74, ie by how much the winrate changes if you include it. Though maybe it makes even more sense to do winrate included-winrate not included, then you get what causal inference people call “an effect” 3. Any chance you can get the average winrate across decks? Ie wins of all decks /( wins + losses of all decks), so we know which decks have “positive” winrate compared to the field Thank for listening to the previous advices, love this series as someone with a stats degree
@cedhtv Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback. As someone that that dosen't have a stats degree haha I more or less just know how to do plus and minus and calculat the awerage %. Ok I do know more then that. 1) Yes I can change that. Should not a be a big problem. 2) I am actually reading and trying to learn more how to add significans. tricky. I don't know on top of my head how to calculat the difference in winrate. I know what it is. I have seen it in different studies. (I am in healtcare bussnies so I do read some studies about healt and such. So I have seen 21.61-20.74=+0.87% alot. But I don't know how to calculat that. But I would like to add it. I will add that to my learning things. 3) Yes that is the plan. If I understood you correct you mean drop all DECK all commanders into the calculation and start counting winrate of cards and the total awerage winrate. That is something I am working on. I am just adding commander after commander. And once I have a few I will start doing some test. I have actually alredy tested the one ring with 155 different decks (different commanders to) and it got a 24% winrate when the awerage is 21%. So we are starting to get there but I still have a lot more commanders to add to a correct calculation. If you want to talk more direct and even showcase how to calculat feel free to contact me on discord. Hard to talk here but discord is a good communication platform I think. micromonkey#3895 But if you want to point me in the right direction you can text here to. Thanks for the feedback again.

I had a game a few weeks ago where I kept saccing snakes to my Koma to tap down a Tymna and a Tivit. It's a useful stax piece, more in Kinnan's style. Edit: Also, Perplexing Chimera is a double effect stax piece, because after you steal a spell, the other two players who didn't get it still have to play under it.

Sorry for the notifications, didn't know you couldn't put some links in KZbin comments. Thanks for the video! The Kinnan community loves it already! PingmeisterPong already had a shoutout if you follow him online. Just wanted to shout out Wounded Satellite's Kinnan Primer on Moxfield if you look him up. He explains why Perplexing Chimera is so good as well as cards like Thorn Mammoth and Glen Elendra. Will also give Faerie Mastermind a chance as I dismissed it based on other player's experiences. The unique card choices give me so many new ideas. I have never heard of Mirromade before. For example, I like Chromatic Orrery because it's a colorless combo enabler that Moonsilver Key can tutor for. The Devoted Druid/Machine God's Effigy is something I am trying instead of Nyxbloom Ancient/Grim Monolith. I am skeptical of cards like Reshape, Voltaic Key, Urza Lord High, and artifact lands but can't argue with the winning percentage. Lastly will test out the interaction suite of Narset's Reversal, Daze, and Misdirection but hard to fit more cards. And are cantrips (Ponder) good in cEDH?! Sorry for the long post, these videos are just the best!

I think the most interesting thing across all these videos is just how few of the card type inclusion graphs show a clear trend line. Frequently its either all the same or evenly scattered but i don't really recall any where the amount of a card type had a big impact on win rate. Perhaps that will be more the case when comparing across multiple commanders? As an aside it might be worth adding a trendline to help read the graph
@cedhtv Жыл бұрын
I have gotten the suggestion to change the style and type of that graph so I will. Looking into how to make it more clear and easy to read. And yes. Once I have more commanders it could get intresting to watch the inpact of the counterspel amount. Becous then we will look at deck that don't even have blue in the color while also look at deck with blue in its color.

How do you define win rate? Do you exclude intentional draws in the list of matches considered?
@cedhtv Жыл бұрын
I am not the one tat calculates the winrate of decks and entrys. The site program dose that. ALl I do is calculat the awerage winrate from the winrate the site calculats. But yes the site dose count a draw as a smaller loss. So a deck with 5 wins 0 loss and 2 draws will not have a 100% winrate. It will be something like 67 something.

I have a potential point as to why certain cards appear so consistent in decks w a higher win % that may bias what you are attempting to do here; The most enfranchised players tend to be the best players. They play most and for the longest. The most enfranchised players also tend to be in the cedh discord for a particular deck. The deck lists in discords tend toward consensus or consolidation. So maybe what we are seeing as the cards that increase win % like the one ring and chimera is not so much the cards impacting win rate so much as cards that the expert players just tend to play more often. Maybe it’s not that the one ring increases win % on its own. Maybe it’s just a card that the community at large has mostly decided should be played and what we see as increased win rate per single card inclusion should be viewed as more of a sign post that these cards are more likely to be played by the players most likely to have the highest win rates 🤷♂️
@cedhtv Жыл бұрын
Your not wrong. But I have seen the one ring get good resualts from a lot of different commanders now. Soon I am going to do a bigger calculated summery not looking at commanders but all decks. I personally belive the one ring will still be good. It is absolutly possible that good players just makes cards look good. But at one point good cards will showcase resualts to. Once we just get more data I think it will be more certain.
