Very cool, envious of Frank's involvement in home video releases! He has great taste in films as well!!

I had the pleasure to talk to Jonathan Herzberg during his days with Kino, I always found him a very experienced film lover and congrats him with Fun City Editions, excellent company for some rare 1970s US releases, my favorite period. Kino Lorber has always been on my list of top US distributors with an excellent catalog. Thumbs up for physical media!

Just discovering this new podcast. Thank you all. Big fan of Kino Lorber and physical media. Thanks to whomever is responsible for selecting First Love by Joan Darling to be released on Blu-ray. I am a huge, life-long Susan Dey fan. Was thrilled to see this addition to your collection.

Thank you Frank, Jonathan, and Alicia. This was another great episode. I have almost all of the FCE titles and I've pre-ordered Bad Company, Heavenly Bodies, and Paradise. Get Crazy was a great release. It makes a nice double feature with Cry-Baby, imo.

Thank you for this discussion. I love Frank Tarzi from his interviews at Cereal at Midnight You Tube channel. Kino-Lorber has the most good releases every year, and they include the things that get me to buy physical discs--audio commentary tracks with English subtitles.

That's how i first became aware of Frank. It's nice to have someone in charge of a label who understands collectors..

I have quite a few collector friends that are only Spanish speaking. I’m wondering if Spanish subtitles could increase sales. Kino?

Thank you for another great episode! And thank you Frank for mentioning Gung Ho! I just picked it up on DVD a few months ago. I am a HUGE Michael Keaton fan.

I really enjoyed the conversation about late 60's, late 70's films. I was just old enough to inhabit the theatres in those days, and saw everything I could - plus there was a theatre near me that showed foreign films - and there were some really great European directors still working at the time. My favorites among the Kino releases have been the Belmondo, Delon and Wertmuller films. As for Fun City Editions, I jumped right in with T.R. BASKIN, BORN TO WIN and THE APPRENTICESHIP OF DUDDY KRAVITZ, and really appreciated the packaging on those. I can't believe how surprised I still am as Kino and Fun City announces new releases.

Frank I love the 1940s-1960s European titles that you release, those Ealing Studios films such as The Night My Number Came Up, the Carol Reed movies, French language films, Claude Sautet films, Melville of course, so many great European films. You even released my favorite comedy film of all-time, The Green Man.

The Wanderers in 4K PLEASE!!!!!

I appreciate Frank telling us movies way early because sometimes it keeps us from picking up an old copy, especially if it's something OOP and expensive on the aftermarket. I wish everyone could/would do that.

My wish list is topped with the TV series IT TAKES A THIEF, which is a Universal title and unavailable in the US. All three seasons on Blu-Ray, perhaps? Also, I just thought of this: the 1963 version of THE DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS. It's never been legitimately released on DVD or Blu-Ray. And, I'm watching the old Paramount DVD on 1997's THE RELIC. This could definitely use a 2K or 4K remastering, and I know you folks work with Paramount a lot. UPDATE: Bought the Paramount Blu on RELIC, and it's pretty good! Much better than the DVD. Lotta requests. Sorry. Thank you!

Where do you submit questions for the show? I want to know the status of the Uncle Buck 4K.

I have over 150 Kino titles in my library and thank they for their great work. However I must say they have lost much of my business lately. I will never , ever support 4k. That is a format that completely disgusts me and I will never support one 4k release. There have been many releases from Kino that are 4k combo packs with titles only available on blu ray with the 4k edition. I will never help support or subsidize 4k just to own the blu ray edition of a title. I respectively request for Kino to stop production of 4k titles altogether or at the very least release all titles on blu ray without the worthless 4k disk.

Well, to be honest, I don't bother with 4K either, but it's very, very popular. I'll stick with Blu-Ray.

Why the disgust for 4K? I don't understand.
@kt91662 ай бұрын
@@brethart4ever I don't get "disgust" with 4K. That's probably just the wrong term.

I grabbed up the Blu Ray editions from Vinegar Syndrome of GORGO and REPTILICUS by buying them pretty cheap from someone who only wanted the 4K. Got 'em off weebay! If you see something, do a bit of looking and you'll find what you want on Blu!
