Just want to point out that the "lag" on distant, animated characters/mobs/objects is a resource-preserving tactic. It lets them really emphasis the foreground and the player character space by sacrificing those further away. The Switch is not a super-powerful system, so things like this should be expected. From my personal experience I think the figurines aren’t quite 100% RNG. I’ve 100% completed the game twice now (once solo and once co-op) and very rarely did I not get the figures I needed within 5 tries, which based on the maths would be ridiculously lucky. I think the game must automatically increase the odds somewhat for figures that you don’t have so that you’re not endlessly grinding for those last few. Either way this game is easily my personal game of the year and I don’t care what anyone else says. And we’re only in April.
@thatnerdcalledzanni39572 жыл бұрын
I've seen speedrunners say that's exactly the case. Game increases chances of a new figurine with each failure at the gacha. On average every 3 spins should net you figurines, which gave a pretty good estimate of how much money you farm while fishing in the 100% category
@ExaltedUriel2 жыл бұрын

I had an absolute blast getting 100% on this game. I'm fairly confident the Gotcha machines aren't true RNG because I didn't have any trouble at all filling out the whole collection. I will say though that there were one or two pieces of Leon's soul that felt like the game developers trolling me, putting it in locations immediately after the "retry" star, and the like. But aside from that one section of the game the whole thing was smooth sailing. You don't even have to get the target time for all of the treasure road challenges to trigger 100% which I appreciate because clearly the goal of the game as a whole was to make you enjoy the game, not to be frustrated. Playing this game was like eating my favorite flavor of ice cream, just an absolute comfort. Even if it's not especially long, I can easily see myself coming back to this game if I'm ever in a place in my life when I need a happy place with which to escape. And of course the soundtrack is an absolute killer. There's a track titled, "Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit" which I think is hilariously in contrast with the kid-friendly aesthetic. End of the game just turns into Final Fantasy and I love it. I read up on Kirby lore in preparation for this game, and I was not disappointed.

The game doesn't tell you a lot of things. Like Morpho knight's homing missiles, and midair aoe attack.

I'll be real, Sleep did not need to be a copy-ability; I feel like the second health bar or a food-item in your inventory serves just as well as the sleep ability, also there's only really one objective you need it for and there's also a sit emote on the d-pad. I can at least argue for Crash to be an ability because it's an easy way to complete the time requirements for bosses.
@idunno_2 жыл бұрын
I also don't get why out of all the abilities they chose to include in this game (which already has very few abilities) they went with sleep
@pwojo97762 жыл бұрын
@@idunno_ A good amount of the abilities, not that they were bad, but were hit-or-miss for me, yeah they work in getting the job done from point A to point B or traversing the area for a bonus, but in like the post-game when each level got to a boss-fight, some abilities I dreaded getting because I knew I would die in the first attempt because my health was so low and I was too stubborn to start the level from the beginning; specifically cutter, bomb, and drill, yes they work but they aren't my best and my strategy for them eventually devolved to mashing the b-button in the boss's face. My favorite abilities, probably gun, sword, and ice.

"Obviously it wasn't going to get that dark" Sir, have you played a Kirby game?

I’ve been waiting for this game since I was a teen in the 2000s. I can’t believe it’s finally happened. And besides the fact that I wish there were just a tad more copy abilities, the freakin’ nailed it. Not to mention Jun Ishikawa and Hirokazu Ando are back.. dream come true!

I'm just finishing up this game. At 98% now. I don't usually complete a game. But this was such a blast! This game encouraged speedrunming (treasure roads) and encourages completion. Such a well made game. And the rewards (morpho and doing harder bosses, hell yeah!) were so worth it! Rng for gotcha wasn't that bad. Could finish it up with coins alone. Still want to upgrade my abilities. That will take a while to grind out the arena.

Kirby games are just so delightful to 100%. They're the only ones that I consistently hold myself to completing fully, they're challenging but they don't waste your time.

One nice thing with the figures is that I think you are slightly more likely to get one you don't have yet, so it makes collecting them slightly easier.

Even when playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land as an adult, Kirby is just so damn cute! This game has so much charm and cuteness to it, especially in Waddle Dee Town

This game has to be one of my favourite games I’ve ever completed! If I was a teacher and this game was an assignment, I’d give this game a 100% I had such a blast and the colosseum genuinely pushed me to my limit cuz I kept getting beat by the ultra mega super final boss! Which I’d never expect that level of challenge from a Kirby game, but honestly it made completion feel that much more satisfying
@zom86802 жыл бұрын
For some reason I thought this game was gonna be "open world" not "the first 3D Kirby" (which I didnt realize hadn't happened yet) Finished it yesterday and before I left for work today I was on the 5th Fecto world on my way to saving Leo. The simple thing of constantly saving the villains and turning them into Allies is what makes this entire franchise amazing!
@silverwolfgamer41002 жыл бұрын
I know I’m a bit late to this but I’m surprised at how he held back for true completion. Just going by what the game says? I like that restraint. Me, I personally added the caveat that ALL ABILITIES must be rank Star. As in, all 11 copy abilities that can be upgraded AND every variant of those abilities.
@mikomakowski7907 Жыл бұрын
Probably for the best you didn’t go for absolute perfection. My completion base is upgrading every copy ability and getting 9 of every figure, giving each one a tiny crown when you get the max amount It is horrifically tedious and I have killed chaos elfilis over 100 times

I think the best part of the completion challenge is that the arbitrary extra challenge/maxing isn't part of the completion process (Time Trial, Tilt and Roll very hard difficulty, and maxing out weapons aren't considered part of 100% completion.

I'm so glad this amazing game got the complete it rating. I didn't know it was going to be this good. My favorite level so far is the carnival one where you swallow a giant light bulb and you have to make your way through the level by lighting up certain areas. And the design of everything in said level was gorgeous

The hardest for me has been to complete all the chronos of the Treasure Roads. Some times, it was a matter of a few hundredths of a second to complete them. You really had to complete the roads without making any error. Not even Chaos Elfilis was that hard.
@p0k3f4n72 жыл бұрын
I got 100% 4 days after I got the game, and I honestly enjoyed almost every bit of it. The only parts I actually dislike are trying to beat Twin Frosties without getting hit and the Staircase treasure roads. Maybe I'd like it a fair bit less if I wasn't thorough my first time going through a level, but as someone who really checked every corner, only having to go back through one of the (relatively short and easy to rush through) levels once or twice, it was a great time.

Luckily the gacha machine has a pity timer, if I remember correctly you can't get more than 3 of the same ones before getting a new one. So if you save up enough money, you get it. I had to fish for 20 minutes in total to get enough to buy every one of them, and completed Kirby between 30-35 hours. It's my favorite Kirby game of all time, and one of my favorite games on the Switch!
@icecontrol12 жыл бұрын
22:20 Yeah the reason for this is that the Gotcha Machine actually gives bigger chances to give one you don't have

I love the little pun that kirby is literally transported into another dimension for the first 3d game.
@Nirual862 жыл бұрын
collecting all figurines was surprisingly painless despite the RNG. The machines actually seem to favor giving you new figures instead of being completely random, plus the division into series means you're looking at like 1/50 or so chances anyway (not counting special figures which you earn outside of the RNG to begin with). Granted, it did eat up a lot of my savings and I was abusing Deep Sleep for free buffs, but its definitely not as grindy as previous Kirby collectables where you'd have to replay levels or use amiibo to roll for more.
@dsch7722 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure the probabilities of getting a figure from gacha machines aren't uniform. They are probably at least slightly biased towards figures you don't yet have, based on how my last few figures didn't even take me more than 10 tries.
