Kirby Heritage ll Turbo 2HD (1985) Vacuum Cleaner - Overview & Demonstration - The Best Kirby Made

In this video I demonstrate my 1985 Kirby Heritage ll Turbo. The Heritage was the last of the classic series without the tech drive assembly. However despite not having that feature, I think it was one of the best Kirbys ever built. The only real problem with this machine is the skipping toe touch height adjustment. As you can see in the video I was having trouble getting it adjusted, however it’s not that big of a deal. Like I said this is one of my all time favorite Kirbys.

Aside from the 1985 Kirby looking almost pristine.....by simply using a HEPA bag it just got upgraded by a massive amount... I agree with you... I wouldn't use a vacuum without a HEPA bag.... Well... at least I wouldn't want to.

Looks and sounds great, bud! You did a great job polishing it. I just rebuilt one and plan to make a video of it soon. I am selling it, but I admit the Heritage 2 is one of my favorite Kirbys. You're right about the old Lexan fans and sleeve bearing roller brushes. The new ones are way better.

I've got the same one, only mine's 2 years newer and has the brush roll light. These are probably the best vintage Kirby there is.

This is a great video! You did a good job demonstrating the Heritage II and I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I will point out, your brushroll is in backwards. The Heritage 1HD was produced from 1981-1984. The 81 & 82 models had a cloth filltube, and the 83-84 models had the steel coil reinforced tube. The 84 models were labeled “Heritage 84” for Kirbys 70th Anniversary. The Heritage II 2HD (what you have) was produced from 1984-1987. It started out with a winged nozzle. For 85 the nozzle was shaved, then for 86, the BPI light was added. The Kirby Heritage II Legend 2HD was produced from 1987-1989. It was identical to the Heritage II, with only a few very minor changes. The Kirby Legend II 2HD was produced from 1989-1991. It was identical to the HII Legend and the very last Kirby before the G series was introduced (1990).

Awesome review. I like these older Kirby’s. In my opinion there’s no place for onboard tools in Kirby’s because they have very functional tools as they are and a good verity of tools which is uncommon nowadays. Great video 😊

The hose is original. I have same hose. Mine is a 85 year.

How to date these machines is the very 1st number is either a 1 or 2. The 1 means it was made in Ohio and 2 means in Texas. The next 2 numbers after the factory number is the year of manufacturing.
