I always felt the hurge of playing as the mid bosses and never understood why it wasn't possible since they're not actual bosses, and now seeing that it was unused actually kills me.

Kind of a shame that some of the minibosses seem limited to only an attack or 2, especially the Bubble Crab, Tedhaun (the ghost miniboss), and Box Boxer (the Fighting dog Miniboss). I get it was unfinished, but give em some more variety than the average Waddle Doo.

Actually all minibosses except tedhaun (his grab is unfinished and just freezes enemies in their grab state) have all of their moves its just the effects that are unfinished for example Bonkers can't break blocks also bubloo has 4 moves.

Hey, so I decided to use the cheat in the video but I can't seem to get it to work like it does in the video. Sometimes pressing start doesn't work at all, and sometimes I can kinda control the boss, but I'm not in a possessing state and I can't turn around well at all. If there's an improved version of the cheat like I've heard, that would be appreciated.

Actually the only midboss that can jump mid air is spinni. It seems the others weren't finished.

They could've made it so you can possess the minibosses but only after you've knocked them out. Also give them an infinite jump.

No they can't be controlled by the player only spinni is the only one programmed to be controlled.
