As a fan who is about to buy Psvr2, this video is brilliant. It fixes the most important thing, expectations. No matter how good the headset it, if you have false/higher expectations due to completely different footage provided, you're bound to be dissapointed.

No one has given false expectations. Problem here is videos like this trying to be the hero when they clearly are not. What was filmed in the video is not what you see with the headset on. The experience is actually pretty enjoyable and it definitely looks a hell of a better than how it was just shown here.

YES! I’m a day one purchaser and was so disappointed that I was about to return it. I ended up waiting a day and got so immersed that there is ZERO chance I return it or play GT7 in 2d at this point; That said, the issue with the blur in the distance is about ghosting imo. Unfortunately it will take PS5 Pro to run GT7 at the required 120 frames to get rid of that.

I had a very slight and brief disappointment with the clarity until I really dialed in the fit of the headset and I guess how to look around in it. It has eye tracking but all the sharpest clarity will be directly center. So it’s best to also turn your head when looking around the cockpit for example, like you would in reality. The VR showroom feature is mind blowing and I love how you don’t have to buy the car to use the feature. I have worked in a body shop and have done detailing for years and am familiar with many of these cars, and it just absolutely trips me out to look around. It’s better than drugs IMO!

Yes, anything away from the center begins to get blurry, and it's not due to foveated rendering as it's evident also in 2d UI too. I guess it's a limitation of the lens tech, but I do think with slight modifications to the hardware (like the shape of the oled screen and / or the fresnel lenses, it could be fixed in later iterations hopefully.) Still, we tend to turn our heads for the things we focus on, so this is not deal breaker.

I got into VR around 2015 and I've hardly touched flat games ever since. My main genres are FPS and simulation, and that is all done FAR better in VR than on flat. Controlling a screen with a gun at the bottom with a joystick or mouse, then centering the middle of the screen on a guy's head and clicking the mouse button doesn't exactly measure up to being pinned behind a crate, struggling to stand up quickly enough because of my own two weak old legs, then steadying my AK and aiming down the damn sights with my damn eyes... Like god damn.. How am I EVER going to play a shooter on a screen again? It's so pathetic looking back at the tens of thousands of hours I spent clicking heads with a mouse... It's just an absurd thing to look back on. I loved every second of it, but it just seems like a weird distant memory now after having played many of those same levels in VR.. Just simple things like "oh, I'm too short to use this box as cover cause I can't really see above it.." But JimmyKilzz420 is 6'3" and can easily use that box as cover.. Just things you don't really think about until you play VR. Small things like that just add so much to the game. I have to play with more range because my body is old enough that doing quick 180s and stuff sometimes hurts my back, lol... That VR CQC is for youngsters. Pinched a nerve planting claymores a few months back. Isn't that just ridiculous? How does crazy stuff like that not excite people? I fell on my ass while crouching the other day. I laughed pretty hard. VR is THE BEST. No way back to a screen for me, ever. Might as well play on a phone at that point.

Spot on sir. I had PSVR1 and was actually a little disappointed initially with the PSVR2s resolution (also conned somewhat by previews as you mentioned). However we are expecting too much. We need 4,6,8k per eye, no lense distortion, no mura, no 60 to 120fps reprojection etc to approach realism. This is a number of years away yet for the mass market. However what the PSVR2 offers is awesome. Being literally in the video game. Playing parts of RE8 last night was bloody incredible. My TV could be 129k and 94 inches and it wouldn't lay a glove on playing in VR. What's more is that we have some awesome games on release. Amen

I have sent mine back to Sony for a replacement, there is no way that the lenses in my unit were right and I wasn't because I didn't have the unit in the sweet spot. The image just had what looked like god rays all over it, it looked like the lenses are dirty on the inner surface and it seems many people have had the issue. I've been playing my psvr1 tonight in gt sport and apart the low resolution the psvr 1 looks great, no blurred/ god rays over the image at all... I'm just hoping to God that my unit comes back looking better, because I want to love this thing!

Couldnt have said it better. We are good few gens away from crystal clear, PERFECTION. But I still do absolutely love current gen VR, despite its few drawbacks. I also think graphics in general arent there yet for VR. The way all current games render 3D objects st s few metres away from the player leaves them with a lot of aliasing, which is obviously a lot more noticeable whe viewed at full scale in VR. Or maybe this is just an issue that increased resolution or AA can solve? Either way, graphical power isn't there yet, and consumer price VR specs are still a few gems away. As I said, I love VR, but I cant wait until its absolutely 'perfected'(looks as good as current gen games do on a TV)

I'm old school. I played GT7 on my tv first before PSVR2. The level of emersion you experience is worth the reduced clarity of the VR visuals. There's also an increased sense of speed we didn't experience when playing on a flat screen. As I've said, I'm old school. When I look back at how far gaming graphics have come, PSVR2 visuals still blows my mind especially when I can still remember playing Night Driver on the Atari 2600. Valid point about expectations. I still think the sense of immersion as you touch on supersedes the visual sharpness. If you have never tried VR you will still be blown away. I assume most of the big reviewers have had previous experiences with VR, so they already know the limitations of the technology and reviewed the PSVR2 thru that lens so to speak. When you compare the fidelity of GT7 on PSVR2 to any native Quest game or really anything that isn't a PCVR setup that cost 4x more than the PS5/Headset combo, the visuals are outstanding. On the other hand if you never experienced VR and only had videos online as a reference point I can understand if your expectations weren't quite met. I myself have been using VR for a few years now and GT7 is by far the best experience I've had, Assetto Corsa and my PCVR setup are going to be collecting dust for the foreseeable future.

People that use contacts leans and glasses. If you’re switching between those. You will need to do your eye tracking over again. So that it can be perfect. I set my VR with contacts on, and did the eye tracking. Everything work perfect but when I use my glasses, I notice my eye tracking is not as sharp. Did a testing and notice it not going to the edges. Because now my eyes are farther out so the tracking is not as precise.

I was so blown away by the experience initially that it took me a while to even notice that maybe it was less than sharp. And even then, that was mainly because of the negative influence of reading complaints online and seeing videos with super sharp footage being posted. I started second guessing and thinking maybe I didn’t get all I paid for, and it began to negatively effect my enjoyment. This despite the fact that I had already spent days loving every minute before all the negativity. I realized what was going on though and dialed back my expectations (even though I had already experienced it, so I don’t know what you call that) and now I’m fully back on board. Compared to the PSVR1 it has about twice the pixel density, for around 25 pixels per degree (ppd). That's also higher than the Quest 2's 18-19 ppd, and the dynamic foveated rendering it can keep that ppd much better. What new adopters are running into is a 1440p monitor is a 40+ ppd depending on how close you are to it. Even a 24" 1080p monitor is about a 35ppd display when you're at comfortable gaming distances. So the PSVR2 is considerably sharper than the PSVR1 and even the Quest 2. The problem is all of them are roflstomped in sharpness by a (checks notes) 14 year old HP LP2475W monitor. To get to that level of sharpness, you're starting to look at stuff like the Varjo Aero, which is a bit rich for a lot of people's blood. Definitely not a first VR headset, no...

Your comparison with a dream state was really apt and a great way of describing the trade offs of VR vs flat screen. I also appreciate the empathy for first time VR users who are disappointed due to unrealistic expectations set in part by other KZbin videos and reviews. I am not seeing a lot of empathy from the VR veterans on Reddit and elsewhere saying, "this is really good for a midrange VR headset, why are you disappointed?" If we want VR to grow as a mainstream technology, we don't want newcomers immediately feeling disillusioned and then maybe having their concerns dismissed by the VR community.

It's unbelievable how flat that track is in 2D compared to in VR. In VR it's a rollercoaster, and the U turn up the wall is just crazy.. On flat, it looks like the U turn up the wall is just a U turn at the bottom of a hill... Well said! It was so surprising to put the headset on, and immediately pick up issues, particularly when Digital Foundry is singing such high praises. Mura is probably the biggest one, especially in darker/grey games like Resident Evil. More surprising since the halo Horizon tech demo, which starts with a bag over your head, has one of the worst examples of Mura. Never good when an issue is so obvious that it makes you think your product is faulty... After playing for a night, I tried our Rift S at work the following day, and although the pixel density is lower, vibrancy is lower, and the FOV is less, the lens sharpness is massively better and easier to hit. No ghosting, no Mura... PSVR2 is great, and GT7 is amazing, but how the more technically sharp reviewers didn't raise the ghosting and Mura issues right away is really strange to me. Also, what good is foveated rendering when looking to the side is a blurry, chromatic aberration mess anyways :D Thanks for the videos!

Absolute excellent video! and I'm glad you have said what you said @ 2:40 - why no one has mentioned old VR elements are still present - and that it's '4K'. I own the headset and I've owned previous headsets - so the visual reference to myself is there to see the improvements, an that's helped me absolutely love the PSVR2. Because I can compare it to others. but watching these big review channels painting it "4K, stunning, absolutely crisp & clear" - being either a new buyer or buyer of VR devices, you're gonna buy this headset expecting a 4K TV HDR experience. Headset is still amazing to me however as it is the most crisp headset I have put on. But I feel like you've said, pre-reviews etc. never pointed out it still has its flaws

Let’s be real tho, it’s a VR headset, priced at £530 (cheap when it comes to this level of quality), running on a console, at the end of the day it was never going to be as nearly as good as a full on PC VR set up with all the bells and whistles like people naively expected. However I still stand by the headset and say it is the best affordable VR headset you can get today.

I wish I saw this video before I got my PSVR2 because the footage I watched and the channels that released the footage not once mentioned the visual downgrade. The downgrade was immediately apparent to me when I used the headset, it’s much blurrier with less detailed textures and car models. Weather effects also look worse and motion blur on opponents cars is pretty bad with severe ghosting. I was honestly quite let down with my time on GT7 in Vr

Kireth, you’ve been excellent at articulating how you view PSVR2. I also received it at launch and wearing glasses I questioned whether the blurring, etc I saw was because of my vision rather than the headset itself. Having never owned a VR headset and I didn’t have anything to benchmark it against and it’s been helpful and relieving to know you’ve experienced the same things. I’ve come to accept the limitations of the headset, I still love it and I thoroughly enjoy GT7.

As a PSVR2 owner, I really like the comment ‘when the sun comes out, I feel it’, that’s exactly how it is for me, you are correct about the visuals and the social misunderstanding of what they are really like, it’s true, but the bigger piece really for me is how it makes me feel! Definitely felt disappointed the first time I put the headset on because I was used to my LgC1 TV. But within 30 mins after playing gt7 I realised that’s it’s everything else you get, the realism, the smoothness, I’m so much more aware of the speed and where I am on the road, when to brake compared to the TV, I don’t think it makes you faster, it makes it real, I’ve noticed quite a few KZbinrs that play GT7 semi professionally, like SuperGT, won’t use the VR headset a lot, I’ll bet you because of the realism it does make you just slightly slower. I do love my headset, never had the psvr1, no regrets now and I know I’ll be using it most of the time.

You are right thanks for that, when I first received the psvr 2 I was confused reviews we’re talking about hdr and photo realism. I actually thought my headset was broken. I had to realise it was still amazing without that. I spent more time trying to get the headset to look how the reviewers said it was i it was supposed to look and that made me frustrated at first. I should have just played the games and realised as I do now how good it was as I said without that. The reviews made my experience not as good as it would have been without the reviews. Thank you for making this video because it was driving me insane that the cars were all soft or blurry while the cockpit was nice and crisp, but other KZbin channels including DF were saying how sharp and crisp it was for them. So I was worried I got a defective unit. Some people would even gaslight by saying maybe people who it appears blurry to need to get their eyes checked. Other games like RE8 or No Man’s Sky are tack sharp. Granted there is a lot of shimmering and bad anti-aliasing, but they are sharp. So I’m glad to know it isn’t just that some of us are imagining it.

At first my issue was the headset not staying on my head properly, I had to constantly adjust it, but then I tried wearing a bandana, that helped for a few mins then I decided to get my headset instead of using the included ear buds, this solved my problem. Still a bit uncomfortable on my nose but not a deal breaker. As for the quality, yeah it’s not incredible, but it is so damn immersive, especially with a racing wheel set up. Don’t get me wrong it definitely still looks nice, it doesn’t look horrible as long as you keep your vision in your he sweet spot, but the enjoyment of being in these cars and racing with others online is really something else. Let me put it this way, today I did some night races through the Tokyo highway in go carts against other players. A full go cart race in Japan, it was so fun and it was like being right there in the cart. You can’t get an experience this immersive and fun anywhere else. At first I was thinking of returning the headset, but I decided to give it a chance and work out the kinks just to make sure it was the decision I wanted to make. In the end, I’m happy with the headset, it could be better, but the amount of enjoyment I’ve gotten out of it has made the purchase so worth it. All that matter with gaming is that you’re having fun, and the psvr2 has managed to accomplish that for me. If people are having issues and are debating the return, my suggestion is to make sure you’ve tried everything to make it better first. If it doesn’t work out, then it just isn’t for you, nothing wrong with that. But definitely give it a chance before you give up on it completely.

I've been telling people on the fence about buying one, to put their eyes about 25cm from a 1080p computer monitor, with it playing back a recording of GT7 cockpit view. Not a retina MacBook, just a traditional LCD monitor, which most of them have around. That's about the pixel density you'll be experiencing in the headset. People need to understand that the game needs to be rendered twice, and also 4x the size per eye! That's where the foveated rendering works its magic to make it easier on the PS5. I personally can't go back to playing GT on my TV, you can see past the drop in clarity, because its so much more immersive in the headset.
@vgaportauthority9932

You get essentially a 2000x2000 screen blown up to what would equate to maybe a 100" square screen. My iPad Pro looks infinitely better than most of your TVs out there because it's a high resolution screen on a 12.9" device. Your 60 inch 4K TV is going to look less pixelly than a 4K 100" display. The smaller the display, the sharper it gets. When you blow a 2kx2k screen up to the size we have in VR, you're going to get a far, FAR lower pixel density than I get on my ipad or you get on whatever TV you have. That's just how it is. VR isn't about visual fidelity, VR is about the VR effect. If you're buying a VR headset cause you want better visuals than your OLED TV, you're obviously not getting that, that is NOT the point of VR. The point is immersion. If you're the kinda guy who constantly looks for flaws, just give up on VR now, it's never ever going to be for you. It's not going to be "perfect" for many many MANY years. But on the flipside, it's not like TVs are perfect either, and audio is recreated horribly even on the most expensive audio equipment. A million dollar hifi system is still going to sound like abject garbage VS a live acoustic guitar. If you can accept using a reflection burdoned 60fps 2D display for 3D games, you should be able to accept a less than amazing display showing 3D games in full 3D with head and hands tracked... But it doesn't work like that, everyone is already used to TVs being kinda rubbish. VR is new, and some people have insane expectations. Me, I grew up in the 80s with the Atari 2600 on a 14" black and white travel TV. The PSVR2 is gorgeous to me. Playing 3D games on a 2D screen is so sad. I watched some people racing in 2d on Maggiore yesterday, that track looks almost flat on a 2D screen... In VR it's pretty much a rollercoaster. Mura and resolution doesn't bother me nearly as much as all the flaws of a TV.

Yeah, I bought it earlier this week and my expectations were that the graphics were going to be 2k where you look at with foveated rendering, the image was supposed to be amazing where you looked at(or where the system caught your eyes looking at). However when I tried it I could see blurriness in the distance, e.g. practicing for a race on Atlanta on the long back straight I would see blur about 200m ahead. I was expecting foveated rendering to eliminate this. So am disappointed in that fact that the image isn't high quality like it is on my monitor but the VR effect which plants you in the car and allowing you to look around is amazing. I also got sick twice. Yes I am a VR noob and this is my first VR headset.

Another thing people need to be aware of is how delicate the lenses are. I’ve had mine less than two weeks and i found skin oil from I imagine my eyelashes on the lenses. I’ve used only high quality kens cloths to clean them and what I have found is that they don’t remove the oil. They just kind of smear it around making it more blurry. Then after inspecting, I also find micro swirling on the lenses from what I can imagine is fine dust particles being rubbed onto the lenses. I sent it back and am getting another one. This time I ordered some HonsVR glass lens inserts that fit on top of the VR lenses. This way I can remove those, clean them and not worry about those scratches due to it being glass. It’s a much harder surface than plastic and will take a lot more to scratch them than fine dust particles. That, and I can use lens wipes to clean the oil off without worrying about removing the anti glare coating on the VR lenses. I have accepted the image isn’t going to be crystal clear. That’s fine. I love the immersion and experience. I just don’t want anything to make the image any more blurry. So I think these lens protectors are going to be the answer. I’ve heard nothing but good things about them. Thoughts? Appreciate the video and the honesty. Only real review I have found so far. Subscribed.

I have the original PSVR, a Quest 2 and now the PSVR2. I was surprised to see the number of KZbin videos (like this one) where people are complaining about the image quality that you actually see in the headset compared to the image quality in the video reviews. My initial reaction was, well obviously it's not going to be exactly the same quality as the review videos we've all seen. I never assumed for 1 second that those videos were a true representation of what you would actually see through the headset. So I went back and looked at some of the original PSVR reviews. One of the first Digital Foundry reviews from 6 years ago actually displayed a disclaimer on some of the footage saying that it was not representative of the actual image quality. I don't remember seeing similar disclaimers on recent videos posted for the PSVR2. So I'm thinking that anyone who based their purchasing decision of the PSVR2 purely based on watching footage in recent reviews will probably be disappointed. However, I'm surprised that VR veterans who have used the PSVR, Quest 2 (and others) truly believed that the PSVR2 was really going to deliver 4K pin-sharp visual perfection at this price point. To be honest, the only thing that I'm disappointed about is the Sony sense controller charging station. An excellent example of where design has taken priority over usability.

Finally, someone that simply says the real things. I’m tired of people defending vr because it’s vr every time someone points out the blurriness. The reality is reviewers out there keep mentioning “crystal clear 4k” and it’s not. Not from the vr lenses it’s not. Doesn’t mean it’s bad, its not, but reviewers are supposed to be out there testing stuff out so we don’t have to, giving us real facts so we can then choose on our own with all the cards in hand where to put our hard earned money. This is my third vr headset and I sold a much more expensive one for the psvr2 and do NOT regret it one second. But I too was a little shocked to find it wasn’t “crystal clear” and thought I had a defective headset.

Yeah I experienced this when I first bought my vr2 for gt7 but you know with a few little wipes for the lenses, adjusting the eye tracking as well as making sure I have the vr2 set up on my face in the place that fits perfectly with the band tight also making sure you have the lenses the right distance from your eyes before you login I feel makes it much less blurry and much more enjoyable. However there is still some blur however it can be worsened if you have smudged on your lenses or if you don’t have it the right distance from your eyes or not property positioned on your face.

100% spot on. I bought into the hype, but luckily I am paranoid by nature, so I sorta knew that it wasn't going to be how it's presented on review videos. However, I will also add, that even with the reduced fidelity, it really is amazing ito the immersion, and for the first time (I've always said that GT Sport and GT7 failed to portray elevation changes in tracks adequately) - you can actually experience the elevation on tracks - Nurburg and Laguna are good examples - you actually feel that hollow feeling in your stomach on some sections of the track... Having said that tho - I am quite disappointed in the way these things were "marketed" - even now you will find videos of people "explaining" why there is blurring, and that it is not that bad, and is mor realistic etc etc, and the whole foveated rendering... I have not seen the foveated rendering on eye tracking at all - if it was there in GT7, it would probably make things look way better already, but the only way you can get remotely decent visuals is if you actually move your head to the spot you want to focus on. And for my last 180 :) - do spend the time to adjust the set properly on your head. One of the screens that I found personally to help you know when you have it right is the eye tracking screen and not the eye adjustment screen. When you do the eye tracking setup, you should be able to see the little dot very clearly on ALL the positions on your screen. If you see any fuzzyness on any of the dot positions, then your set is not properly alligned, either horizontally, or vertically, or both. If it's fuzzy, start again - begin with the head strap itself, make sure it is as low on the back of your head as you can manage. The "eye piece" of the unit must be able to come towards your head FULLY - ie, the lenses must be as close to your eyes as possible. The do the eye spacing adjustment and then eye tracking again. If you do this correctly, even the large menu screens should have clear text and graphics all the way to the edges of the screen, without you having to move your head to see the text clearly or see what car is on the list... That will give you the absolute best view you can get. One "trick" that was posted by another youtuber was to set yout GT7 in-game brigtness to max ( +1 EV), and then tone down the PSVR's brightness in it's setting.

Good video - I have never remarked on a DF video before, but this time I had to off the back of their recent GT7 VR review. The fact is that whilst this is a massive advancement over PSVR, the software is by no means as good as it is being portrayed. I have this headset AND Reverb G2 with a decent PC. I can push the G2 far higher and produce more detail, and for me a much sharper image than GT7 VR is on the PSVR2 (the sharpness difference is pretty stark). I suspect the reality is that the PSVR2 can be driven harder, but clearly the PS5 doesn't have the grunt to go native on the pixels to do it. In reality I feel reviewers in general are over egging the quality of current PSVR2 software. What I would love to do is be able to connect the PSVR2 to my PC..... then I'd be able to see how good the PSVR2 really is from a headset perspective.

I only played GT7 for about 90 minutes and personally found it a bit underwhelming. Visuals regardless you are still sitting on your ass turning a wheel so it doesn't really change all that much. What did it for me was playing Horizon and Pavlov. I cleared about 3x4m of space in my room so I could walk around somewhat freely and it was amazing. Yeah, the visuals are worse but walking around, interacting with objects, picking random stuff up, and throwing it is just so cool. It is a completely different experience compared to sitting on a couch with a controller in hand. This change in the way you play the game makes the sacrifice in visual quality worth it for me.

I've not tried vr since Occulus dev kit 1. Many have said the psvr2 share image isn't the same quality, but your approximation of the in headset quality is very helpful. Thank you

I also have a PSVR 2 headset and thought it was defective. Now I realize it's just a flaw of putting lenses in front of your eyes. Thank you! You've earned a new subscriber!😊

Good video I absolutely love the Psvr2 and it’s right now my favourite way to play video games. But because of my extremely high expectations from the reviews I was a bit disappointed at the beginning that the Picture wasn’t as sharp as a 4k tv screen. Still an awesome headset and a huge upgrade from the Psvr1.

I had the exact same thoughts on mine. I just got it and my first thought was it doesn’t have great resolution at depth. I looks great on things up close

Thank you for this, I wish more reviewers were making this point. I was initially very excited for the PSVR2, then they announced how much it would cost and that put me off, I thought I'd wait until it was out to see whether it really lived up to the hype. It is very disappointing that there are reports of blurriness, having owned the PSVR1 I am just astounded that Sony would release a new VR headset that would still be plagued with these issues. It leaves me thinking that the technology for VR is still not here yet, maybe in the next generation of headsets they will get it right. Maybe I will still pick up a PSVR2 at some point, but I think it would need a big cut in price to convince me to do so.

Better to wait for Vr3, I don't regret buying them, but if I didn't have them, I wouldn't buy them, the unfortunate one with the bugs that it has and that's without counting the damn cable that bothers a lot. When you put on this headset you realize that vr needs at least one more generation.

Thank you for posting this. The blurriness isn't what bothers me. What bothered me was this lingering thought that my unit might possibly be defective and I wasn't getting the full intended experience. Even after numerous reddit threads and comments I still wasn't sure. All things considered it is pretty mind blowing and I gladly embrace it's flaws. Just imagine where we will be in 10 more years?

I agree with everything, however I notice that while call of the mountain, does have the same effects you talk about, it is much clearer than other games and I'm sure that's because it was designed for the vr2 and utilizes the foveated rendering much better.

Should be known by now, as VR as been commercially out there for years now. But resolution in VR will always be behind 'flat' gaming, just for the mere fact that for VR, an image needs to be rendered 2 twice. So the sacrifice needs to come from somewhere. Generally they sacrifice a bit of the resolution (of the image as a whole, but also texture resolution and such) and certain effects that are cpu and/or gpu intensive: for example realtime lighting vs baked lighting, dial down rain effects for example, or less distribution of things like grass 'straws', and so on. As graphical and perfomance wise they always cater to 'flat' gaming, seeking out the limits of the console, it's only natural to see it dialed down when 2 images only have access to that same amount of power.

I'm all for setting expectations, and I actually do see reviewers make it clear time and time again (in VR reviews for more than just GT7) that the image people see in videos isn't the same as seeing it in a headset. But to kind of imply reviewers are being somehow dishonest I'd say is going a step too far. Especially when it all boils down to fact that this is very much how basically all VR is and has been the entire time, from well before PSVR2 ever came along. Where the gulf between seeing something in headset vs seeing the same footage on a flat display is basically impossible to really understand without quite literally seeing it for yourself in person. Though I'd also say it's just not asking much to expect some understanding from viewers on the basic idea that a headset basically wraps a screen across the front of your face like an inch from your eyes, arguably covering more of your vision (in relative terms) than what viewing even a large TV would at typical sitting distances. So yes, of course it's going to look different. Again I'm all for making that clear to people, but I can't agree with what seems to be some idea that other reviewers are out there somehow misleading everyone if they don't repeatedly clarify that very obvious fact.

@@Kireth What about them? I've already said I agree with your overall message. But there's a difference between agreeing with the message, and disagreeing with the rest of the delivery. A million people saying you're right still wouldn't mean there was actually nefarious intentions at play, as if reviewers had banded together and planned to go out actively trying to mislead people.

Well if we're going to play that game then I never said that you specifically said it either, I said you implied it. Because what you absolutely do is make it very clear you think people weren't being honest in their reviews, thus implying they were being dishonest on some level, and that it made you 'uncomfortable' how it has been reviewed by others. So you are correct, you don't say it specifically. You just tip toe right up to the line where people would start making actual, direct accusations. Implications are good that way, no direct 'Gotcha!' to point at as proof. It was whether you were knowingly doing it or not is what I was most curious about, and judging by your response I believe I got my answer. Cheers.
