William messana. Absolutely! For me this is one of the very worst show performances for that very reason. Plus his abysmal moonwalk and cringy M J dance interpretations, and general hysterics. Ballroom latin dancers just shouldn't go anywhere near M.J. I have yet to see an even moderately good one yet. They are far to rigid and structured (technically constipated as my coach would say) in how they move and they generally all just end looking stupid. .

Joe- yes yes & yes! After re- watching this (& it wasn’t easy!😜) I just find it embarrassing for both of them & more than a little sad for Viktoria in particular. Where is her coach???

@@williammessana4244 Their coach is my absolute all time favourite male latin dancer. You want to see some serious Latin chemistry then look up anything with Slavik Kryklyyvy ( it's not a misspelling) and Karina Smirnoff or any of his other partners. His rumbas particularly are masterpieces.

Joe- I am excited to Check out the dancers you recommend- I’ll do it tonite!! I only ask about Viktoria’s coach because I am supposing ( perhaps wrongly) that at this stage in her career & with all the enormous sacrifice & investment that got her where she is that she might be better protected & advised as to what SHE needs to do & what is best for HER in order to continue advancing her standings irrespective of what Kirill wants to do when it’s so obvious that in this performance she didn’t benefit at all by it- does she not have an advocate of her own? Where is her support team? Or doesn’t it work that way?

@@williammessana4244 Great question generally i suspect few if anyone gets to this level without a strong support group. As I understand Kirills parents own a dance studio so he was vitually born into it. I think that might be part of his issue, ..weight of expectation. I dont have the answer really but I just suspect that neither Kirill or Slavik ( their coach) really see it the way others particularly outside the sport do. As they say in the motion picture industry this shouldn't have made it onto the big screen but rather have ended up on the cutting room floor.

Fun with CFS. He actually believes that what he is doing is a good interpretation of M.J. LOL. Compared to Michael it's like watching a broomstick dance. The worst of it for me is that in all the years I've watched Viktoria with any of her partners she never looked like she was playing second fiddle but in this show dance she has been reduced to not much more than an accessory and a servant for Kirill's extravagant ego.

Beyond the absurdity of Kirill’s rendition of MJ, what’s the big point in recycling his old dance with a fresh partner? I agree with you-Victoria does seem to play a second d fiddle in this dance and her standing still on the floor while he does his ridiculous solo is “criminal.”

@@ficklefialka309 I made the exact same criticism on another video about rehashing another M.J number. I agree completely with Vik standing still and to add to that,pause at 2.20 and take note of where their individual focus and eyes are. These are the moments ( and there are many) that he completely misses to create deep, sincere connection with his partner. He is so honed in on performing to the crowd and getting attention and accolades that almost nothing else exists. I am constantly astonished how little attention he pays to Viktoria in this routine and I dont give a flying hoot how good your technique is if you are clueless on how to partner and showcase a woman on a dance floor.

Kirill wore the wrong suit for a "Smooth Criminal" routine. But he did a good job (except that 'Moonwalk'). He spent more time dancing solo than partnering. This is awesome to see a ballroom program using MJ's music!

Точно! Она слишком хороша, чтоб быть задвинутой на второй план. Мне нравятся, когда в паре равные, а не каждый старается перетянуть внимание на себя. Ну и не по-джентельменски как-то задвигать партнершу, вместо того, чтоб гордиться ей.

@@yuliyapopova5934 Мне у них очень понравилась румба на этом же Сибирском марафоне. Получилось чувственно, хорошее взаимодействие. В остальных же танцах, мне кажется, у них просто разные стили. Виктория более мягкая в движениях и чуть более медленная, а Кирилл очень резкий и акцентированный по сравнению с ней - и это было бы неплохо и могло бы быть даже плюсом, если партнерша танцевала бы в том же стиле. Полина более ему в этом соответствовала. Хотя в целом у этой пары прогресс, конечно, есть. Посмотрим, как их будут судить на международных соревнованиях. Виктория действительно была очень хороша с Сальво, но она так выглядела именно на его фоне. Все относительно. Пожалуй, это свойство только выдающихся танцоров - классно выглядеть с любым партнером. Я считаю, что не всегда можно вину списывать только на партнера.

@@svetasmit723 Да, есть такое ощущение. Возможно, дело в том, что у Кирилла Майкл Джексон уже в крови, а для нее это совсем что-то новое. И танцует она это ради него в основном, а не потому, что ей это очень хочется. Мистер и миссис Смит у них более органично смотрятся. Вот там действительно очень удачные образы подобрали, на них даже чем-то внутренне и внешне похожие. Можно предположить, что у них вдвоем будут лучше смотреться те вещи, которые новые для них обоих, а не старые затанцованные у каждого в своем стиле.

His musicality is a stunning masterpiece. No girl in the world can follow him. That's the point. She can just watch him. In a man's dance. Since it´s Michael Jackson.

H.C Where do you come up with this stuff? Seriously get your hand off it Helge. ( I mean the key board Helge, not the other thing)😜😉 The first sentence clearly shows you live in a cocoon and have seen few if any genuinely good M.J impersonators. By comparison to those, what Kirill does here is a debacle, although not the worst I've seen by any means. I suspect this was Kirills idea to trudge out yet another M.J number. BAD IDEA, VERY BAD because as it's a new partnership and Vika has stepped a long way up from the amateur ranks, instead of designing work that would promote VIks strengths( and she has them we all know that) and really bring her into the partnership with him as an equal, they design something that serves almost entirely to showcase his skills asa flamboyant entertainer. However because she has such amazing floor presence she covered it up to a degree and saved it from being a total self indulgent sham. This felt like the husband in the living room partying with the guest whilst the wife is left in the kitchen to do the dishes.It just has that feeling about it if you care to take the pink glasses off.

@@joetesta8754 When the greatest dance channel in the world, Panache, honorably publish a Michael Jackson show imitation, it is supposed to be respected with dignity, and not childish bias. Here Victoria lets the man be the star. WHICH IS CORRECT. And he is alive like hell, with great musicality. When the lady is THE STAR, like Polina in cha cha cha or Victoria in rumba, YOU DO NOT call it self-indulgent or other stupid things. You must behave. The newest video of Troels (and Ina) in Paso doble shows a matador of class, with great musicality and perfect technique and spirit -- in a man's dance, with the matador as the star. You dont call that self-indulgent. Stop bias toward Kirill, Joe Testa.

@@helgechristophersen7665Because someone is critical of only one aspect of a dancer because they feel it is substantially enough deficient that is doesn't work well in the interest of both in the partnership as a whole, it does not make them biased, if you care to look up the definition of the term bias.I dont have an issue with a man taking the lime light ON OCCASIONS providing it doesn't overly detract from the lady too much as I feel is often the case with Kirill in not only this but all his partnering with different ladies, including those I have seen him dance pro/Am in.. You only need to read how many other people have commented the same thing, so perhaps you should respond to those as well instead of only me. Your exultant and unyielding admiration for him and you unwillingness to see even the most minute discrepancies even when many others do and are blatantly obvious, It either show a lack of understanding for what is good partnering, or that your feelings go deeper than those of just an admirer of his dancing. After all it's very true of the saying that love is blind. As you have had almost no formal competition dance and therefore partnering experience at any level let alone this elite one, Makes you unqualified to pass opinion as far as I'm concerned as this is not an area of dance you can learn from a text book but from practical experience which you dont have. Your comparison of a man and a woman being the main focus in a performance is very arguable as Its always the lady that is the primary asset. The man is there to enhance that NOT TO TAKE OVER. I waste nmy time trying to educate you and I don't know frankly why I bother. You live in an obsession and totally unwilling to consider or value an even remotely alternative opinion to your own. NOW THAT HELGE IS BIAS IN THE TRUE DEFINITION.

@@joetesta8754 What we are supposed to discuss here, is the Michael Jackson show. It is like the fantastic Jose Greco in flamenco, he also dances solo and is the best flamenco dancer in history. Similarly, Lola de Ronda dancing flamenco as a lady solo. It is nothing wrong with Kirill in a Michael Jackson show. Michael Jackson is one of the best and most popular dancers in world history. You ARE biased, because you deliberately omit the tremendous support Kirill and Victoria have got from the entire wold for their rumba show ("Pianista"), with excellent partnering and the lady as a star. I advised the couple specifically to change their rumba and even the routine, and EXACTLY that happened. in the latest shows, where Victora is allowed to complete her moves and the routine is drastically changed from the first show. I have ALWAYS advised Kirill to let Polina be a star in the cha cha cha and without hold most of the time, exactly as Polina splendidly has shown now with Andrey, and which in fact Polina showed much in the latest years with Kirill, too. I have as you know been UNHAPPY about Kirill and Victoria´s cha cha cha performance in the Russian championship, and criticized Joe Testa for "an understatement" in your harsh criticism. I criticized Kirill for dancing on his own and not partnering well. The world is now waiting for their next cha cha cha. I have many, many decades of personal partnering experience, and my form of teaching is always dancing in front of the class throughout the class with my personal qualified partner. And in private lessons dance with the lady student throughout the lesson. I have decades of competition experience and shows, and professional examinations in both ballroom and latin, which you do not have.
