Kinda sad that they skipped everything after they left the town until they already arrived in centoria. In the novel it was basically a whole mini arc which also included the whole tournament which gave them the right to go to the "school" in centoria but since they had to cut sth out it was probably the one thing that was the least important (even though it was cool for worldbuilding and Eugeos and Kiritos friendship)

Liena is such a nice teacher, i really like her character, design and fighting methods 💜 Also Kirito's sword is gonna be really awesome in the future, but it already looks amazing! Love the animation, and can't wait for the next episodes. There will be so crazy shit happening.

He really enjoys the show. He kinda doesn't care about all the context cut from the source material wich is good. The anime is what it is and should be enjoyed like that.

Volo is a character that I wish we could have gotten to see more of. It's nice to have a rival character who isn't malicious or evil, but is just driven to be the best, just like the protagonists.

Other people probably mentioned it, but in the novels their travel to Centoria is a whole book. It's not all that important for the grand scheme of things, which is probably why it was cut, but it gives you more time to really build the relationship between Kirito and Eugeo and has some nice storylines and a world building. It includes them getting to the other city on the way and taking part in a tournament as well as them staying with a family living nearby for a while. It's also when they go over a bit of world building about the academy and explains how they got allowed entry into it in more detail.

The fun part about Incarnation (power of will physically affecting the world) is that it basically weaponizes plot armor and puts it into the hands of every single character. The protagonist can abuse plot armor to win, but then so can the villain, which kinda nullifies a good part of the issue with forced fights, since you have a. extremely convenient and valid excuse for the author to write whatever he wants without sacrificing immersion or logic. Basically, as long as the narrative and emotional storytelling is good enough, no fight will be disappointing or immersion breaking. And the he manages to make pretty damn good use of that for the most part. I don't think I've ever seen a in-universe explanation for sudden power ups mid fight and plot armor moments that works quite as well as Incarnation does, which is pretty impressive.

What is Special about Underworld is the Taboo Index that prevents the inhabitants from willfully hurting each other outside of sword duels. And even then it's first blood at best. That's why sword skills in underworld were usually just developed as one hit combos. But Kirito knows hit combos with way more than just 1 hit. He basically only used his one and two hit combos up until then to not stand out to much as an outsider.

I quite like Volo. He's not exactly the nicest of guys, but he's definitely not a dick either, and his conviction and will are very worthy of respect. You could say he's a bit rude and arrogant sure, but unlike some others like Trash 2.0 and Trash 3.0 earlier in the episode, he undoubtedly deserves his position and the respect he asks be shown for it. You could say that demanding a spar with a page and asking for a life threatening one to boot is harsh, but in a sense it's also his way of showing respect. Overall, he's a pretty good guy, and a great example of the good side of nobility. He is a noble and acts like one, but he carries the respect and dignity to show alongside his pride.

@@jdoggivjc True. Whenever his eyes turned yellow. Although in this episode the sword briefing turned yellow. It was a pale blue when he did the four slash but whatever he tried to do after was beginning to tap into it and the sword turned yellow. My personal take is that the level of connection along with the individual's cognitive skills play a role. In SAO, no other players besides Kirito is known to push the limits of the program to the point of cheating it. After SAO, he was able to push the limits again. While everyone else was using the Amusphere, Kirito continued to use the NervGear which is explained to have a stronger connection with the brain and offer a more realistic vr experience. With the STL, the connection with the vr environment is on a whole other level and the individuals connected play an active part in rendering the environment which makes it hyper realistic. This also makes it possible to more than cheat the system but straight up overwrite it. To do what shouldn't be possible based on the core programming. It also means that cognitive function doesn't have to be as high to make use of it. This leads to Accel World and the Neuro Linker which is a scaled down, commercialized, SLT device. Plenty of people can use the Incarnate System but it isn't easy and plenty of people can't do it.
