Been an OSU fan for 40 plus years suffered through the late 70's and early to mid 80's. Im often embarrassed to say I'm a fan as this is Thee worst and entitled fanbase in north American sports. Fire Day......and replace him with whom exactly? I'm so happy for Day and hope he moves on to a more supportive environment where he doesn't have to fear for the lives of his family because some 55 year old keyboard warrior knows how to coach better.

One of the benefits of the B1G moving to Fox is fewer ESPN games for OSU. I obviously don’t know what Kirk is going through/has gone through but, he has an obvious problem with the fanbase, aka the people watching the game. He paints with too broad a brush and is simply too close to it all, for the worse. I would be happy if he never called another OSU game Before he kicked it to SC his final comments as the confetti had just begun to fall was to curse the fans and rail against how some treated Day. There were certainly some who’d crossed the line and they should be condemned, but to make that your thesis in the team’s moment of triumph is shameful.

I've been a Buckeyes fan my entire life. I'm not going to explain to people why he got banned from the Woody by Jim Tressel. If you know, you know. The bottom lines is simple: He calls games not only does he call games he publicity trashes Buckeyenation repeatedly. That's the problem. Nobody cares if he waxing poetic about OhioState. Using his platform to attack the program, and finally the fans call him out for that. Meanwhile, Ryan Day still showed that man love. It's bitter sweet, but if he just called the game regardless of outcome, things wouldn't be so dicey. That relationship can be mended, and maybe it will.

Another factor that might be figured into it. I don’t know if any of you saw Riley Lenord’s post-game pressor, but it had this Buckeye getting watery when I watched it. I know that there are many Ohio State players that are conjoined with Riley in the convictions he articulated. I’ve said that it is too bad that the Russian/Ukraine war cannot have two losers. Both governments are despicable. Given the quality of these kids, it is a shame that this game couldn’t have had two winners.

ESPN carried the game on 2 channels with a former player of Ohio state on both channels. In addition, they added a parody of 80+ year old former coach of Notre Dame. What about adding a parody of Woody Hayes and some former Notre Dame players? I listened to the radio.

I dunno. Everyone else on ESPN is an open Homer (except for maybe Reese) and Herbstreit canceling Torg was unacceptable. Edit: plus the cheating on his wife rubbed some people the wrong way.

I've generally been indifferent towards broadcasters. The B1G hate during the Indiana-ND game was the first time I felt like the conversation was inappropriate. Kirk broadcasting during the Tennessee game clued me in to the negativity I'd been reading and why many don't like him. I opted for the Patt McAfee sideline show for the remaining playoff games, and will do the same in future seasons.

I’ll accept every excuses for Kirk…he can’t be objective anymore…he proved that. If I’m ESPN I’m pulling him from Ohio State games moving forward. The minute you prove you can’t be objective or you allow that doubt to creep in…you can’t put the toothpaste back into the tube.
