@@Tomasz2488 The GX and the 4runner actually shows you what the suvs were back in the day imo, suvs in that era like the cherokee XJ, ramcharger, bronco, blazer and land cruiser and etc and they were driven by rangers, hunters, farmers and off-road fanatics not by a karen mom. Ironically, the x5 and the gx/4runner represents two different types of suv market landscape, the 4runner/GX is more an old-school suv while the x5 is more a generic awkward crossover.

It is awesome, superb even, wow, Lexus nailed it with this GX. G class, Defender, EAT IT! Both interior, exterior, again vervy very nice fit and finish, premium 2.0. Mercedes, Land Rover, no match for this GX. Lexus engineers have made the best off roader, period!

The profile is such a departure from lexuses design language, yet the front and rear graphics are super lexus. It's like a Lexus FJ cruiser. This thing is excellent. I hope this adds more fuel to the fire for off roaders. Hopefully Infiniti and Acura take notes. Yeah they don't have off roading heritage like Lexus, but I'd love to see a new QX80 and an Acura off roader.

honestly I don't need a panoroof on an off-roading/overlander type vehicle like this. Those are some beefy roof rails and should be used. Put the panoroof on the non-overtrail versions. This is a well thought out vehicle. Toyota is really nailing it as of late.

I guarantee that body color section at the bottom of the grill is to accommodate aftermarket winch bumpers. The current gen needs half the spindle grill cut to do an aftermarket bumper and it just never looks right. This gives multiple clean lines.

Hi Kirk! I am very impressed with the brand new 2024 Lexus GX 550. However, I am going to give it a few years to get the bugs out the only two areas that I am very leery about is the digital dash and the TwinTurbo‘s because they are very expensive to fix and the way I buy Lexuses is about every six years when they come out with the most reliable version for example, the 2023 Lexus GX 460 luxury package is the last year so it’s the most reliable , I will definitely say that I will purchase one in the future. I am wondering what the costs are for the different models I will be waiting for a future video from you on that and I will tell you Kirk. I am very impressed every time I watch one of your videos they get better and better day after day week after week month after month year after year, this is one of my favorite videos that you have ever done and I can sense the excitement you have when you talk about the GX 550… you have 100% of my appreciation of all your input, passion and excitement you have for your job. I like this new model, it’s pretty cool looking, as if the Bronco and Land Rover Defender had a baby, then out popped the new GX. I was thinking to get a remaining 2023 GX model and am still thinking to stick with that 2023. Surprisingly, the gas mileage is about the same between the older V8 and new turbo V6, but I like that old V8 and its rock solid build!

17 mpg combined is just unacceptable for a turbo v6. I get 20 mpg combined on my LX 570 and thats NA v8. The rest of the vehicle looks good especially that rear locking diff. The turbo hybrid is coming later I think and tuned for performance rather than MPG if we look at sequoia and Tundra. Keeping my 4Runner and LX 570 till it dies.

Really all the downsizing is is just emissions. The goal is likely to just meet new emissions while trying to retain the v8 power (or exceed like here) and economy (slightly exceed here)

I'll be honest, I like about 80% of the new design. The front looks great, the strong lines definitely make a statement. The hood isn't quite as excessively pronounced and boxy as I was expecting, which is nice. My issues at the moment are the wheels, which look like 2015-ish 4runner wheels with a Lexus badge, and the lightbar on the back which isn't *quite* as elegantly executed as it is in the other models. I'd personally prefer a slightly wider mirror than the squared off ones it currently has, but that's because I live somewhere with notoriously bad drivers so I typically prefer as much blindspot mitigation as I can get. One thing's for sure, considering how boxy and rugged this design looks, my part of the world definitely won't be mistaking this thing for The Car the LX-Owner's Wife Drives. I'm thinking my trade in from my 2017 will wait a few years until I'm sure the kinks have been ironed out, and I'd personally like to go for a hybrid if possible. So maybe 2026, 2027... Or perhaps see if a facelift might address my concerns, which will also be a good thing for reliability. All in all, good stuff, eager to see how things progress from there.
