Have a 2019 sport and with 51,000 miles on it, the truck still rides smooth and without any creaks inside. I also like the stick shift transmission rather than the push buttons on the new ones, and there is no button to push everytime you start it to keep the engine running at stop lights! I thought of upgrading to the 2024, but ya know it's still the same truck but for the 6 speed transmission I have. BTW I tow my 2022 GeoPro 19' RV trailer (fully loaded around 4,000 lbs) every summer with no problem. The radio was pretty basic so I bought a Kenwood touchscreen radio the greatly improves that. All in All the ridgeline has been my favorite truck after owning many trucks over the years.

The Ridgeline is by far the best pickup on the market. It's the Goldilocks of trucks... Not too big, not too small but sized to do what 95% of all truck owners need. It hauls 4x8 sheets of building material flat in the bed. And let's be honest, nobody takes a $50k new truck off road. That is reserved for owner 2 or 3.

I really liked looks of Frontier and surprised by its quiet ride, but in snow and ice country, I really couldn’t go back to 1980’s style part time 4x4 and have to keep manually switching it in and out as needed. So I picked up a Ridgeline Black Edition and the bed easily fits my e-bike on its side, where as it was a pretty tight fit in Frontier. Honda push button drive I could do without and the adaptive cruise/auto-brake is very dated, kicks off at 25 mph. The stereo is a real challenge to tone down the tinny sound !! Honda could easily improve that, probably with just a software upgrade. Got first drive on thick ice and wow, I am impressed with how well it does. Is a very comfortable and quiet truck, perfect for my in town light use. I don’t wish to ever pull anything. I suppose the front styling could be a little less dowdy looking. But I really, really like it a lot. 5000 miles and no issues for the dealer to mend.

We had a ‘21 Ridgeline RTL. Great engine / drivetrain. It did the truck things I needed it to do. However, it was the most problematic vehicle we’ve owned, someone should spend some jail time for the pushbutton shifter. It’s an unsafe design, the lag in changing gears was loooooooomnnnnnnggggggg, the phone charger wires were always in the way. The bi-colored headlights were nauseating, the accident avoidance systems are HORRIBLE. The seats didn’t hold up well. In the end we couldn’t wait to get rid of it. Parting gift? Bad resale value. Get rid of the bad shifter design, get all LED headlights, upgrade the materials and I might consider one again.

I picked up a '24 Black Edition a few months ago and I'd say it's above average. It's the best midsize truck I've ever owned, compared to Colorado, Tacoma, and Frontier, but it's definitely not perfect. I have no doubt this truck will be super reliable for the long term, but there are some annoyances with how it drives. The driver assist system is awful, especially the adaptive cruise. If I step up the speed, sometimes it takes 3-4 seconds before it even begins to accelerate. I also experience this delay when I go to pass on the highway with ACC on, I have to engage the accelerator manually because the truck will not pick up speed at a safe rate, it's just dangerous. My other gripes include occasional weird transmission behavior, brakes feel weak, cylinder deactivation (which I just disabled), the paint quality is not great, the dash around the gauges has an annoying rattle. Having owned 3 Honda vehicles before this, I am a bit disappointed in the Ridgeline because it simply doesn't live up to expectations set by those previous Hondas. They seem to have fallen off a bit as all manufacturers have, in my opinion, but I certainly don't regret buying it. It serves my needs well, is comfortable to drive, gets great fuel economy, and it should be reliable for many years to come. I give it a 7.5/10 overall.

I kind of wish they would give us an option to like $1000 or more to have a column shifter or lever shifter because I would prefer a column shifter as well.

At least he makes two distinct observations. One he specifically made a point saying the truck is not built for off road (truck things). Second he mentioned getting 22 mpg driving around in this hog (reference gas hog). The only reason I believe it's not for off road is the lack of ground clearance. Keep in mind this will also compromise it's performance in deep snow as well. I also don't like getting a doughnut instead of a real spare tire. This also is a piss poor design because if you are hauling anything you will not be able to access the spare at all. Not to mention the bed is raised to allow for the trunk and spare tire, which makes loading and unloading the bed more difficult. Let's also not to forget the trunk is not ergonomically correct when trying to bend over and lifting at an awkward position and not being able to use legs to lift you have to use your back. Lastly look at market share or how many they are selling in a year with over a decade of a customer base.

I’ve had a ford ranger fx4 , Tahoe , ridgeline , Chevy truck. Jeep jk , Tacoma off-road lifted , tundra , Jeep JL now a tundra trd pro . I trade every couple years when I get bored with vehicles. I will agree it does need a refresh and could use more ground clearance . Buy what you like not what other people will like for you. The ridgeline wasn’t bad at all. It fit a Honda 400 4wheeler in the bed and hauled it around like it wasn’t there. The Tacoma was without a doubt the worst vehicle . Crappy on wet roads. The bed was useless. The backseats were terrible for kids. The new ones look worse.

The Tacoma I test drove a few years ago was worst than the Ridgeline. The ride is not as good as the full size trucks I drove throughout the years ...but better than compacts in my opinion.

9 speed will have more shift points than you are used to.

@@MB-ld6js yeah, just doesn't feel right .. not a smooth transmission .. but very quiet ride otherwise., decent gas mileage etc I would like to get 300,000 miles out it, visiting every national park in the USA.

As someone who owns a Ridgeline, and someone who had five Honda elements and probably a hundred cars... The Ridgeline is my favorite... If only it looked a little beefier got a little better gas mileage and could tow a little more it would be perfection Rides like a Cadillac handles like a Subaru And it's got so much storage

This guy nailed it. I owned plenty full size. This truck is for whatever. Best truck ever.

I had a 2017 ridgeline, had so much trouble with it i traded at 95,000. To Honda's credit all work and parts were covered. I have never been in a nicer truck than the RL. Loved the vehicle, but no longer trust them. For my use it was the perfect vehicle., and yes sales are way down.......

I had a '17 RL for 6 months before I traded it in for a new '21. Dealership gave me more in trade than I paid for it. I had problems with the '17 as well. The '21 has none of those problems so I reckon they've addressed them.

yikes i got a 2017 BE. what were your issues?

@@defender714 one of the AC hoses are prone to failure. The gauge cluster sometimes will light up like a Christmas tree for no reason. The factory alarm would just go off randomly like it was a '90 BMW.

The Ridgeline is a pickup for people who don't drive pickups. Like me. I don't care about towing capacity nor off road ability. I was interested in the Accord. With what they are offering, I'll pass. The base model has a 1.5 liter engine. The hybrids have 2.0 liter engines. You don't even get a 12 volt dc socket in the dash. The Ridgeline has a lockable trunk and a flat floor. Plus, you get storage below the rear seat. It is great to still have the V-6, but the mileage is atrocious. I still get 30 mpg on my 2004 Accord V-6. I guess I will be keeping it. Can we get rid of everything on the center console except for cupholders and more storage. Put the selector lever back on the steering column. Sorry for the rant. I'm just tired of automotive design going backwards.

Just a Oddessy Mini Van . I had one bad move. It's not a truck it's Mom hauler for the kids with bicycles and beach bags. Otherwise forget it. Plus $1200 bill at 60k. For new Timing belt. Transmission is weak.

Paddle Shifters, Black Lettering, Red Stitch Seats, tiny bed... wait, is this a truck?

Don't be fooled. You'll need a VCM muzzler, a stop/start bypass, and learn how to work a tablet while driving in traffic (but no texting).
